To Port Maje

Vilario's Rest

Eld Engrim

I emerge at the cave entrance at #12 on the map of Vilario's Rest. I go south and kill another Young Boar.

Alliria speaks to Eld Engrim at #8, who is the last Crew Member that I needed to find for purposes of the Helping Hands Quest. He is also accompanied by Veela, the Orlan child that Alliria saved from Simoc as part of her Pillars of Eternity 1 History. I get 2,500+ xp for completing the Quest.

Eder takes Disciplined Barrage. The Perception bonus is an obvious benefit. I ultimately have in mind an upgrade for it that will also prolong his buffs.

Alliria takes Spirit Shield. It gives her an enduring +3 boost to her Armor Rating, and comes out in a flash with no Recovery. It also adds +1 Concentration.

*Evil* Eld Engrim

*Evil* The conversation plays out differently for Zarathos, owing to the fact that both Durance and Veela are dead.

Zarathos selects Lesser Wounds, for the obvious reason of getting himself to 10 Wounds as quickly as possible. He also takes a skill point in Intimidate, checking that box off.

Eder takes Disciplined Barrage. The ability is a staple for a lot of Fighter builds, just on account of the Perception bonus itself.

Maje Island

Ilonet's Fork

I start off at #1 on the map of Maje Island. I next travel to Ilonet's Fork at #2. There will be a wagon with members of the Children of the Dawnstars here, worshippers of Eothas. You can make a Stealth check of 1 to gain a little extra information about them, or approach them openly, but neither matters much in terms of how the end result can play out.

Their wagon is stuck in the mud, and there's more than one way to handle the situation after inspecting the wagon. A Sleight of Hand check of 2 will get their strongbox, which will gain three Peridots and 15 silver fanning. It won't lose any influence with the Children of the Dawnstars, but it will lose a little with Eder.

Alliria asks Eder to make a Might check of 15 to get their wagon out of the mud. Doing so will gain positive reputation with the Children of the Dawnstars, although the reward ends up limited to the 15 silver fenning.

*Evil* Ilonet's Fork

Zarathos decides to make an Intimidate check of 1 to get the money and gems from them. He also decides to murder them as well and start a battle. It goes without saying that these actions earn disapproval with Eder.

Note that I make it a priority to Flank and take out the Priest first and foremost. The Priest can heal up both himself and the Dawnstar Heralds, but he's also squishy and will go down easily. I then Flank and take out the Heralds one by one.

Zarathos then has a conversation with Eder, who makes his displeasure known.

Sigil of Darkness Wardstone

I go to the Burial Site in the northwest corner of Maje Island. I reload until I get a Sigil of Darkness Wardstone. Wardstones last until Rest, and I won't use them until I'm ready to set up my no Rest run in earnest. But I get the Darkness one first, because there will be an encounter that involves a Sigil of Darkness very shortly after I get set up.

I enter Port Maje Harbor at #3. I purchase a Vailian Hullbreaker from the Supply Shop of Port Maje for 1,900cp. One will be available prior to entering the Engwithan Digsite, and another will become available after entering the Digsite. Getting both means you have to purchase each before and after. Vailian Hullbreakers will be a vital part of the fully armored build that the good party has in mind for the Galleon.

*Evil* Zarathos also purchases a Vailian Hullbreaker, even if it won't become part of his ship configuration. It will still see him through some of the early naval battles.
