SHORT BOWS

The Short Bow is often the favored ranged weapon of Thieves but all Warrior classes can also learn how to use this weapon in a pinch; though most would prefer to use a Long Bow instead. Make sure to have plenty of Arrows at hand, or your bow is useless!

Bow of Arvoreen

Properties:

• THAC0: +2.
• Weight: 2.
• Speed Factor: 6.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and non-Halflings.

Location:

• Part of Mazzy's starting equipment.

Darkfire Bow +4

Properties:

• Equipped Ability:
  • Once per day may cast Improved Haste.
  • 5% bonys to Fire and Cold resistance.
• THAC0: +4.
• Weight: 1.
• Speed Factor: 2.
• Requires: 3 Strength.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.
• Cespenar can upgrade this bow to the Darkfire Bow +5.

• Dropped by Captain Erelon at 10 in Amkethran.

Darkfire Bow +5

Properties:

• Equipped Abilities:
  • Once per day may cast Improved Haste.
  • 5% bonus to Fire and Cold resistance.
• THAC0: +5.
• Weight: 1.
• Speed Factor: 1.
• Requires: 3 Strength.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

• Created by Cespenar in the Hellish Pocket Plane if you give him the Darkfire Bow +4 and 5,000 GP.

Short Bow +1

Properties:

• THAC0: +1.
• Weight: 2.
• Speed Factor: 5.
• Requires: 3 Strength.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

Location:

• Sold by Ribald Barterman at 2 in the Adventurer's Mart.
• Sold by Arledrian on the second floor of Gaelan Bayle's Home.
• Sold by Gorch at 2 in Mae'Var's Guildhall, as long as you haven't solved the Mae'Var quest.
• Dropped by one of the Harpers if you fight Reviane's party in connection with the Harper Hold quests.
• Sold by the merchant at 4 in the City Gate District if you save him from the thug who tries to blackmail him.
• Sold by the Djinni in the blue tent at 4 in Trademeet, as long as you haven't solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest for them.
• Sold by the Merchant at the marketplace at 11 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.
• Sold by the Smithy at 22 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.
• Dropped by Thenry when you fight Dermin's party in connection with the Harper Hold quests.
• Sold by the shop at 7 in Brynnlaw.
• Dropped by the Assassin at 2 in The Vulgar Monkey in Brynnlaw.
• Sold by Therngle Dagleford at 16 in the Underdark.

• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

• Sold by Ribald Barterman at 2 in the Adventurer's Mart.
• Sold by the Black Market Thief at 15 in the Slums.
• Sold by the Merchant at the marketplace at 11 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.
• Sold by Ribald Barterman at 2 in the Adventurer's Mart in Chapter 6 if you agree to pay for seeing his special wares.

• Sold by Karthis al-Hezzar at 2 in the North Forest after you save him from Yaga-Shura's soldiers.
• Sold by the Smugglers at 1 in the Smugglers Cave in Amkethran if you save them from the Monks.
• Dropped by one of the Sendai statues in Sendai's room.

Short Bow of Gesen

Properties:

• THAC0: +4.
• Damage: 2 Piercing, 1-8 Electrical.
• Grants user 20% resistance to Electricity.
• Weight: 2.
• Speed Factor: 4.
• Not usable by Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

Location:

• Forged by Cromwell at 19 in the Docks District if you bring him the Gesen Bow Shaft, the Gesen Bow String, and 7,500 GP.

Tansheron's Bow +3

Properties:

• Equipped Ability: Requires no ammunition.
• THAC0: +3.
• Weight: 2.
• Speed Factor: 3.
• Requires: 6 Strength.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

Location:

• Sold by the Merchant at the marketplace at 11 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.

Tuigan Bow +1

Properties:

• Combat Abilities: 3 shots per round.
• THAC0: +1.
• Damage: +1.
• Weight: 2.
• Speed Factor: 5.
• Requires: 6 Strength.
• Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, and Mages.

Location:

• Dropped by the Beastmaster at 18 in the Copper Coronet.
