BALDUR'S GATE 2 – SHADOWS OF AMN
In the original Baldur's Gate game you learned that you were one of the Bhaalspawn, the children of Bhaal, the dead God of Murder. Shadows of Amn continues the saga. It tells the story of how you are captured and tortured by the archmage Jon Irenicus, of your escape from his dungeon, and of your hunt for Irenicus - and for answers to the questions about who he is, what he wants from you, and why. The hunt will take you all over the land of Amn, and under a goodish part of it, too!
On your journeys you will meet a variety of companions, some of which you may already have met during the original Baldur's Gate game, and some of which you have never met before. Some of them you can even start a romance with, and all of them will to some extent have their own agenda - which in some cases may clash violently with your own!
Shadows of Amn is divided into seven chapters, each of which tells a part of the tale of your hunt for Irenicus.
In Chapter 2, your foster-sister Imoen is arrested along with Irenicus and you now have to find a way of securing her release from prison, and of finding Irenicus. You must gather a large amount of money to finance your journey to the island where Imoen and Irenicus are held.If you have installed the Throne of Bhaal extension, you can continue your quest in the epic conclusion to the Bhaalspawn saga once you have finished Shadows of Amn, and you have the option of travelling to the mighty dungeon of Watcher's Keep. However, I recommend that you do this during the extension, as Watcher's Keep is very difficult, and since it ties in more closely with Throne of Bhaal.
