BASTARD SWORDS

The Bastard Sword, also known as the one-and-a-half hand sword, is larger than the Long Sword but smaller than the mighty Two-handed Sword and is still just light enough that you can wield it with a shield – or a second weapon – in the off hand.

Location:

Given to you by Raevilin Strathan at 9 in the Underdark if you free him from the Imprisonment sphere and cast Heal on him after he turns hostile.

Weight: 9.
Speed Factor: 7.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and Thieves.

Location:

Dropped by the Cambion at 27 on Level 1 of Irenicus' Dungeon.
Sold by Ribald Barterman at 2 in the Adventurer's Mart.
Found at 14 on the third floor of Mae'Var's Guildhall.
Sold by the merchant at 4 in the City Gate District if you save him from the thug who tries to blackmail him.
Dropped by some of the guards at 11 on the second floor of Saerk Farrahd's Estate.
Sold by the Merchant at the marketplace at 11 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.
Sold by the Smithy at 22 in Trademeet, once you have solved the Djinni in Trademeet quest.
Dropped by Lord Roenall at 2 on the De'Arnise Keep Outside Area when you kill him in connection with the final Fighter Stronghold quest if you are a Fighter, a Barbarian, or a Monk and you take the keep as your stronghold.
Dropped by the Orog Leader outside the Umar Cave at 12 in the Umar Hills if you are doing the Ranger Stronghold quests.
Sold by the shop at 7 in Brynnlaw.
Sold by Therngle Dagleford at 16 in the Underdark.

Throne of Bhaal:
Sold by the bartender at 3 in the Tankard Tree.

Watcher's Keep:
Dropped by the Cambion at 31 on the Maze Level of Watcher's Keep.
Found in one of the piles on the floor at 33 on the Maze Level of Watcher's Keep.

Sold by Karthis al-Hezzar at 2 in the North Forest after you save him from Yaga-Shura's soldiers.

Watcher's Keep:
Dropped by one of the "Statues" at 9 on the First Level of Watcher's Keep.

Blade of Searing +3

Properties:

Combat Abilities: 1 extra point of Fire damage.
THAC0: +3.
Damage: 2D4 + 3.
Weight: 5.
Speed Factor: 5.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and Thieves.

Location:

Given to you by Sondal if you defeat his fighter at 6 in the Ust Natha Tavern.

Foebane +3

Properties:

THAC0: +3.
Damage: 2D4 + 3, +6 vs. undead, shapeshifters, and all extra-planar beings (demons, planetars, etc.).
Weight: 7.
Speed Factor: 5.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and Thieves.

Dropped by one of the "statues" at 8 on the First Level of Watcher's Keep.

Foebane +5

Properties:

Statistics:
- Special Ability: +1 Bonus to all saving throws when equipped.
- Combat Ability: Each successful hit casts Larloch's Minor Drain on target (no save).
THAC0: +5.
Damage: 2D4 + 5, +6 damage vs. undead, shapeshifters, and extra-planar beings (demons, planetars, etc.).
Weight: 5.
Speed Factor: 3.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and Thieves.

Jhor the Bleeder +2

Combat Abilities: 2 extra hit points of damage each round until 10 hit points of damage has been done.

Damage: 2D4 + 2.
Weight: 7.
Speed Factor: 6.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Not usable by: Druids, Clerics, Mages, and Thieves.

Dropped by Madman Aganalo at 9 in the Underdark.

Purifier +4

Properties:

Equipped Ability: 20% Magic Resistance.
Combat Ability: +4 additional damage vs. Chaotic Evil characters.

Speed Factor: 4.
Requires: 11 Strength.
Usable by: Paladins.
Cespenar can upgrade this sword to the Purifier +5.
