Serpent's Crown
Pearlescent Rhomboid Helstone
The good party switches out Rekke and Mirke for Xoti and Serafen. The composition of the party is such that its present members will either soon obtain good items useful to them, or enter plot points that have special relevance to them.
They arrive at #1 on the map of Serpent's Crown. Una will have her shop open at #2 during the day time. She's a good source to buy lower-tier gems from.
On this occasion, I buy the Pearlescent Rhomboid Helstone for Serafen. The Helstone confers one of six random defensive benefits at the start of each fight: Concentration, +1 Armor Rating, +3 all Defenses, -5% Damage Taken, additional +10% chance to reflect spells. Any of them would be beneficial, but it's the +1 Armor Rating that will have special relevance for Serafen when it does happen.
Ereti
I go north and speak to Ereti at #7. I buy two Pets from her.
One is Otto Starcat for Alliria. It provides +1 Fire Power Levels for her personally. And that will hone numerous powers that she uses like White Flames, Fireball and Sacred Immolation. All party members receive +5% Damage with area-of-effect attacks, which again will benefit Alliria in particular when she uses her offensive spells.
I also get the Dog named Socrates for Eder. He'll regain 20 Health should he personally land a killing blow. The whole party gains +3 Deflection. Aloth in particular will benefit as it helps maintain his buffs.
I then go east and through the door at #8.
Granis' Training
That brings me to #1 on the map of the main floor of the Kahanga Palace.
I go northeast and speak to Granis Yirgar at #5. I pay him 3,000cp to learn Granis' Training (+1 Athletics, +1 Survival).
Now I go up the stairs at #7.
Bounty on Oheiro
I am now at the stairs at #2 on the map of the upper floor.
I speak to Barati, and collect rewards of 2,300cp and 5,000+ xp for the Bounty on Oheiro. I also accept the Bounty on Rafiq the Red Beard.
I go up the stairs at #3.
Geirvard's Training
That brings me to the stairs at #1 on the map of the rooftop. I next go down the stairs at #2.
That brings me to the stairs at #10 on the map of the outdoors of Serpent's Crown. A Pet cat named Prissy will be at #13.
I speak to Geivard Calder at #12, and pay him 3,000cp for his Training (+1 Arcana, +1 History). I go back up the stairs at #10. And then I go from the stairs at #2 on the rooftop and down the stairs at #1.
That brings me to the stairs at #3 on the map of the upper floor of the Kahanga Palace. I go south and straight out the door at #6.
That brings me to the door at #9 on the map of the outdoors of Serpent's Crown. I go east and to the exit at #14.
The Sacred Stair is my next destination.
