Not so much a Quest, and one that doesn't need to be completed. It's more a series of opportunities to encounter otherworldly creatures to your benefit. But those opportunities are limited, so choose wisely.
If you have a party member wearing the Spectacles of Spectacle, then you can see certain specific extraplanar beings that no one else can. Use can one charge of three to pull a given extraplanar being into the Prime Material Plane for you to fight. So it's up to you decide which three extraplanar beings you want to spend a charge on, and very often to kill and loot.
The first one will actually be wandering about at random in the main floor of the Elfsong Tavern. It's a Fire Elemental named Al-Alai. You'll have to fight it if you use one of the charges from your Spectacles of Spectacle. It's worth 6,000xp when killed.
A Gauth will be at 19 in the Coast Way Crossing. If you use a charge then the Gauth will usually attack you as a matter of course. Defeating it earns 6,000xp and a Ring of Fire Resistance.
A Greater Shadow will initially be at 3 in the Bugbear Cave but then will wander about at random. You can kill it if you use a charge from the Spectacles of Spectacle to pull it into the material plane and get 3,000xp. Alternatively, you can talk it into attacking the Bugbears. Most of the Bugbears will be helpless since they won't have any magic weapons to attack with.
An Air Djinn named Nazramu will be at 6 in the Coalition Camp. Using a charge of the Spectacles of Spectacle pulls him into the Camp, for which he'll be grateful. He then sets up his own shop that offers several unique items.
The forms of a female warrior and an Earth Elemental will be fighting each other at 24 in the Dead Man's Pass. You can use the Spectacles of Spectacle to pull one or the other into the Prime Material Plane, but not both.
The Earth Elemental will attack once it's pulled. You'll get 11,000xp and 4 Emeralds after defeating it.
A Rakshasa named Vidyadhar will be at 8 in the Underground River. He won't be happy about it if you use a charge from the Spectacles of Spectacle to pull him into the Prime Material Plane, but he'll eventually offer you a chance to avoid a fight if you answer his riddle. The correct answer is "bees", and he'll give you an amulet called the Modron Heart before departing.
You can instead insist on attacking him, or he'll attack if you gave the wrong answer to the riddle. He can be a tough opponent. He starts with a lot of protections like Protection from Magic Weapons and Stoneskin. And Breach won't work on him since he's immune to 5th-level and below spells. He'll also use offensive spells like Cloudkill, Sunfire, Fireball and Lightning Bolt, which again he himself is immune to. If you bring him to "Badly Wounded" he'll then flee and leave behind the Modron Heart. You'll also get 5,000xp. You can loot his corpse for a Scroll of Protection from Magic (Green) and a Scimitar +3 should you manage to land a killing blow before he teleports away.
You can ask Zhadroth to reward you if you use the Spectacles of Spectacle to pull him into the Prime Material Plane. He'll give you a Ring of Regeneration before departing. The Endless Watcher will attack you if you freed Zhadroth. He can level-drain his targets with extra cold damage, and himself has 50% damage reduction against weapon attacks. You'll get 9,000xp and the Astral Crossbow +2 if you can kill him outright. Zhadroth will show up if you take too long, and use an Imprisonment spell on the Endless Watcher. In that instance you'll still get the Astral Crossbow +2 but your xp reward will be reduced to 5,500.
If you wish to fight Zhadroth then your Hero of Baldur's Gate must be either a Cleric or a Paladin other than Blackguard, or have at least 24 points in Lore, in order for the dialogue options to start a fight with him to show up. Zhadroth is the same kind of bad news as any other Lich, loads of spell protections, ability to cast high-level spells, and immune to spells of 5th-level or lower. However, if you still have The Secret Revealed with at least one charge after having allied with the Dwarven Priests during the Dwarves Of Dumathoin Quest, then you can use a charge on Zhadroth after he puts his protections up. Using the charge will tear down his protections and render him unable to cast spells for the next while, enabling you to cut him down. He will leave behind the Robe of Arcane Aptitude and a Ring of Regeneration. The Endless Watcher will show up and initially want to attack you for freeing Zhadroth. You can convince him that you actually killed Zhadroth by making a Charisma check of 15. Failing the Charisma check of 15 will result in The Endless Watcher attacking, and if you win you can loot the Astral Crossbow +2 afterwards.
An Angel named Idyletia will be at 3 in the entrance to Avernus. She'll attack no matter what you have to say if you use a charge from the Spectacles of Spectacle on her. You'll get 15,000xp for killing her. But chances are she'll be tough enough to force you to spend Potions and Wands and the like to outlast her. Especially as she can dispel your buffs and use Blade Barrier. She may not be the best candidate for using a charge from your Spectacles of Spectacle, especially if you may be nearing the xp limit for Siege of Dragonspear.
A Glabrezu Demon named Xhost will be at 2 in the elevator in Avernus. He'll immediately attack the party if you use the Spectacles of Spectacle on him. He's willing to bargain with the party if you damage him enough. You can decide to fight to the death, and you'll get 12,000xp should you defeat him. His corpse won't leave behind any loot though.
If you avoid "you must die" dialogue options, then he'll give you a Sword called the Gift of the Demon +5, which actually becomes less powerful as you use it though.
