Stone monoliths are emitting a strange sound, fueling the curiosity of a woman named Prin.
Speak to Prin at 10 in the Coast Way Crossing. She admits to a curiosity about the Menhir she's standing next to, and would like to find out why it and other Menhirs in the area hum in response to her.
Click on all Menhirs at points marked 11, including the one that Prin is standing next to. You need a character who has a Charisma score of at least 16 to get the needed humming reaction from the Menhirs. You can interact with all of them to further Prin's quest. A Menhir may end up causing damage if you try to interact with it without making the Charisma check, and such an occurrence will not advance the Quest either. If Safana is in the party, then she's a natural candidate to select for singing to the Menhirs.
Activate the runes on all six Menhirs, and the spirit of a Bard named Crommus will appear. He will explain his story of being separated from his true love, Carlise. The spirit of Carlise will appear, and be in an angry and mistaken rage over thinking that Crommus is actually the evil wizard she was originally going to be forced into a marriage with. You can convince her without much trouble as to Crommus' real identity. Alternatively you provoke her with an offensive dialogue option, she'll attack you as a Wraith. But you can still start over again with Crommus and soothe her. Either instance brings her spirit and Crommus' spirit together, and they depart peacefully. Crommus will also tell you that his treasures can be found in the nearby Dwarven Digsite at 9. You'll also get 6,000xp.
It is also after that point that you can tell Prin about the secret of the Menhirs. She will then give you the Reed of Echoes out of gratitude.
