ISABELLA AND IKROS

Vampire hunters stalk their prey, but who is predator and who is prey? That may be up to you to decide.

Coast Way Forest

  1. TsolakThe camp of Ikros and Isabella will be at 2 in the Coast Way Forest. They want to hunt down a nearby Vampire. You can catch on with a Wisdom check that Isabella's carrying an unusual shield. It is The Suncatcher +2, a small shield that is one of the three heirlooms that Takos at 12 in the Coast Way Crossing wants back as part of the Halfling Treasures Quest. If you persist with trying to get Isabella to admit she stole the shield, or coerce her into giving you the shield, she and Ikros will attack. But there are other ways to get the shield.

  2. If you speak to them about their request, they're amenable to you helping out. But if the conversation takes place during daytime, they'll tell you to come back when it's night time. Speak to them again after the sun has gone down, and Tsolak will show up. If the initial conversation occurs during night time then Tsolak will show up right away.

    A tense conversation ensues when he does show, and he'll attempt to convince you that he's not nearly the evil monster that Isabella And Ikros are making him out to be. A good-aligned and straightforward way to complete the quest is to announce your intentions to kill him as an evil Vampire and fight him. A Haste spell should help bring him down quickly, and with a little luck, without any party members getting level-drained. He'll turn to mist and flee. Several Dire Wolves attack the party after that.

    Ikros and Isabella will give you a Wooden Stake and tell you that you must find his tomb and then stake him through the heart. The entrance to his cave is at 3. There are four traps leading up to the cave's entrance.

    The sarcophagus will immediately be within view. Click on it and select the option to stake him through the heart. The sarcophagus itself can now be looted for the Boot and a Half of Speed and Tsolak's Scroll.

    Give the good news to Isabella. She rewards you with 250gp, 9,000xp and The Suncatcher +2.

  3. You can instead agree to side with Tsolak. If you do, try and kill Ikros right away before he puts up his defenses. A Thief waiting in Hiding right next to him can really help on that point. If you defeat the pair, Isabella will leave behind The Suncatcher +2. Ikros will leave behind:
    If you win, and Tsolak is more or less in good health, he tells you he'll send a messenger your way. On that point, try to defeat Ikros and Isabella with a minimum of harm to Tsolak. You may not be able to get the reward from the Messenger if Tsolak is forced to flee in mist form. Now leave the Coast Way Forest and travel to another area available through the World Map. The Messenger will arrive and give you the Trollblood Ioun Stone.

    Also note that Tsolak won't reward you with the Messenger if you kill Ikros and Isabella on your own initiative. You must have the conversation that involves both groups, and make the dialogue choice that sides with Tsolak, in order to get the reward.
