Old City Overlook

  1. The lift here, if you came down this way, allows you to go back to The Gullet at #15. The lift will only remain here for half a day if you came down it. After that, you'll have to try and get back aboveground through the Undercroft.

  2. Several Guls, Darguls and Putried Rotghasts will attack you here. You can also find and interact with the spirit of Botaro if you have previously accepted the All Aboard task.

  3. A group of Phantoms, Specters and Wraiths will be here.

  4. A Sigil of Nightmares will be at both of these spots.

  5. The Lone Survivor will be here. Questioning will reveal that he came searching for treasure, but soon found himself in over his head. He can't climb back up the way he came, nor can he make it past the Grubs that block the other way out.

    You can ask how his supplies are holding up, and he'll indicate that he came prepared to last two weeks. He'll give you three Glazed Chops if you ask him for food.

    If you haven't cleared out the Grubs, you can have him accompany you as you clear a way out. Clearing a safe path for him means defeating the Grubs at #8, going through the exit at #9 to reach the Old City Ruins at #1, and then also defeating the Grubs at #3 in the Old City Ruins. Be warned that the Lone Survivor himself will die on taking really any amount of damage. He'll promise to reward you in Port Maje if you manage to see him to safety.

    If you haven't cleared out the Grubs, you can also earn Cruel and Shady reputation by telling him the way is clear. He'll make for it, only to end up killed by the Grubs.

    If you previously defeated both groups of Grubs, you can now tell him as much and he'll make his own way out. And again he will promise to reward you in Port Maje.

    You can afterwards find him at #11 in Port Maje Harbor. Speak to him and he'll give you a Cloak of Greater Deflection.

  6. Here are the Temple Ruins. Clicking on it begins a scripted interaction that is potentially helpful for purposes of The Cornett's Call Quest. A Survival check of 6 will note that the bones around the Ruins seem suspicious. A Perception check of 13 detects faint echoes from within the pool.

    Diving into the pool leads to obtaining the Cornett of Depths. You must make an Athletics check of 14 and a Constitution check of 16 to avoid getting the Fatigued Injury, which lasts until Resting or finding some other means to remove injuries (e.g., Luminous Adra Potion).

    Getting the Cornett of Depths will cause several Skeletons to attack. They include a Risen Wizard and a pair of Skeleton Sorcerers. The Sorcerers leave behind a Skeletal Wizard Grimoire, while the Risen Wizard will leave behind the Risen Wizard's Grimoire.

  7. You will find Degnos' dead body here if you previously exposed him to Avetta during the Sealed Fate Task.

  8. You will have to fight several Cave Grubs and Cave Grublings here.

  9. This tunnel leads to the Old City Ruins at #1.

  10. There will be a few Skuldraks to fight here.

  11. The stairs here lead to Old City at #5. However, taking this route will lead to Fatigue for any characters who can't make a Dexterity check of at least 11.
