The other night I was having trouble palling asleep and as I was thumbing through my iPad saw that I still had BGEE installed so I killed some time rolling a new character, Carl the dyslexic Carlvalier (typo very much intended). Wasn't expecting to actually play much but here I am two days later and I'm halfway through the Cloakwoods enjoying every minute of it. The touch controls weren't my favourite last time I played on iPad but with an Apple Pencil it feels much more natural. This game is honestly still as good today as it was when it first came out, just an all timer.

Good to hear that you're still having fun playing it on a new device!

Absolutely. Or in my opinion, even better because they've fixed various bugs and QoL irritations. Some of us never stopped playing BG, ever since loving the original Bioware versions. I've always got a BG run in progress!

    What QoL irritations were fixed?
The ones I know were done with a 3rd party addon, initially the ease-of-use for the original which was succeeded by the G3 Tweaks which was succeeded by the Tweaks Anthology for EE.

Beamdog did add a bunch of QoL stuff like AoE looting, dynamic UI, or a better journal system. It makes an unmodded game much more enjoyable to play.

Everyone should always have a BG game going, even if you don’t play it continuously. My latest two games are in ToB somewhere with a barbarian with neutral/evil party and one in Nashkell with a cheaky solo fighter/thief
