Here is the Fanged Strait, which involves a scripted interaction. If
you can sail through with an Expert-level Helmsman, the Strait will give
way to a permanent shortcut through this point in the islands for the
rest of the game. You'll also get xp and Morale for your Crew.
Trying to get through without an Expert-level Helmsman risks not getting
through, your ship taking damage, and a loss of Morale for your Crew.
