The Central Stacks

The Central Stacks

  1. This exit leads back to the Temple of Revelation at #12.

Entering here for the first time leads to a conversation with a Librarian, which progresses the Annotated History Quest.

  2. You can tip over book stacks at these points if you want to distract Librarians away from books that you want to steal and take them without the Librarians going hostile.

  3. This shelf has The History of Eora, Volume I: The Collapse of Grand Vailia.

  4. This shelf has a Note on a Missing Subject.

  5. This shelf has a Structural Integrity Report.

  6. This shelf has The History of Eora, Volume II: The Tribe of the People of the Deer.

  7. This shelf has the Maintenance Log - Flesh Construct Controller. It is potentially used during the Under Observation and A Shout in the Dark Quests.

The shelf will also have the Smuggled Journal Page.

  8. This shelf has The History of Eora, Volume IV: The Founding of Readceras.

  9. This shelf has An Infested Almanac of Crop Rotation.

  10. This shelf has The History of Eora, Volume III: The First Hollowborn.

  11. This shelf has Anatomical Dissection Notes.

  12. The door on the north side of this room is magically sealed. Before the door will be a rune device flanked by two lecterns. The lecterns themselves provide clues as to what needs to be placed on them.

Place The History of Eora, Volume IV: The Founding of Readceras on the left lectern, and The History of Eora, Volume II: The Tribe of the People of the Deer on the right lectern. Now click on the rune device to open the door.

The stairs on the other side lead to the Restricted Section at #1.

  13. These stairs lead to the Restricted Section at #12.

  14. There will be several Enchanted Armors in this room. They won't attack unless you trip any of the traps in the room.

  15. This trapped shelf has Missile Gloves.

  16. The shelves and tables in this room have the following:
A cat named Boras will be in the room as well.

  17. The switch here opens the door at #18.

  18. The door here can be opened with the switch at #17.

  19. There will be several Spore Infested Librarians here who attack on sight.

One item that they leave behind will be Log: Subject K-1121's Confiscated Possessions, which indicates that Bekarna has been taken captive.

Another item they leave behind is The Annals of Llengrath, Volume I of V. Picking it up starts the Root and Branch Quest.

  20. You'll get attacked by several more Spore Infested Librarians here, along with Luminescent Sporelings and a couple of Spore Tendrils.

There will also a large fungus outgrowth here. You can interact with it during a scripted interaction, but the option to strike it doesn't accomplish anything.

  21. These stairs lead to the Quarantined Section at #1.

  22. These stairs lead to the Quarantined Section at #12.

  23. There will be a lot of Spore Infested Librarians and Luminescent Sporelings here. They will attack if you killed the Giant Luminescent Spore in the Restricted Section. But they will let you pass freely if you reached a peaceful understanding with the Spore.

The sarcophagus in the room has Aretezzo's Cane.

  24. This door can be opened with the lever next to it, from the south side.

  25. The statue here has the Incantations of the Hand, which can help complete the Annotated History Quest. Taking it in plain view of the nearby Librarians will cause all of the Librarians to go hostile and attack you. You can avoid that by having a character take it while in Stealth mode.

  26. Opening the door here is a key objective of the Annotated History Quest. That can be accomplished either by a Mechanics check of 26 or the Incantations of the Hand.

  27. These stairs lead to The Oratory of Wael.
