The Vithracks and their spiders will all be hostile to begin with. But you can avoid that if you can sneak to the Nest at #2, enter it and get on the good side of their leader, Sissak.
The entrance to Sissak's Nest. His initial inclination is to attack. However, you reach an understanding with him if you give him the Warden Contract from the Restricted Section.
You can follow up by convincing him that he's not bound by the contract, and can leave when he wants. Convincing him requires following up with one of a Metaphysics check of 15, a History check of 18 or a Streetwise check of 13. That will make him and the rest of the Vithracks and Spiders in the Terrace friendly towards you.
And yet it may be better not to. A dialogue option that does not involve any of the skill checks will leave him convinced that he must stay to honor the contract. He and the rest of the Vithracks will now still be friendly to the party. But moreover Sissak will now reward you with 2,000cp and an Amulet called the The Third Eye.
There will be a small spider here named Giftwrapper who you can take as a Pet.
There will be a Vithrack merchant named Vessatraz here. She is willing to sell you potions, bombs, ungeants and such if you reach a peaceful understanding with Sissak.
