RABBLE-ROUSERS

The influx of refugees as a result of the Crusade has brought one of them into conflict with a member of the Flaming Fist. Whose side do you take?

Elfsong Tavern, Exterior

  1. A Flaming Fist Enforcer named Vida and a refugee named Tanorm will be at 2 near the Elfsong Tavern. Officer Vida asks you to relay a message to Office Jenks requesting assistance. Tanorm will protest that the Flaming Fist are being too harsh with the refugees who are acting out in response to desperate circumstances.
  2. Flaming Fist, Exterior

  3. Travel to the Flaming Fist Headquarters. You'll arrive at 1 just outside of it. Enter it through the door at 4.
  4. Flaming Fist, Main Floor

  5. That brings you to the door at 5 inside the Flaming Fist Headquarters.

Officer Jenks will be at 7. If your Charisma is low, you may want to boost it beforehand. Either a Friends spell or a Potion of Persuasiveness from Halbazzer Drinn may help. Tell him of Officer Vida's message and her request for reinforcements to bring the refugees under control. Two possibilities will open up, but each requires a successful Charisma check (of 16 I believe) to convince him. He otherwise won't be convinced of the immediate need to act, and the Quest will stall.

One option is to convince him to be harsh in sentencing the refugees to send the message of deterrence. Making the Charisma check will mean an award of 1,000xp.

The other option is to convince him to show the refugees some leniency by holding them for one night only. Making the Charisma check will also mean an award of 1,000xp.

  6. Now go back and speak to Officer Vida again.

If you had previously convinced Officer Jenks to set a harsh example of the refugees, then Officer Vida will reward you with a Potion of Clarity and an additional 500xp.

If you had previously convinced Officer Jenks to show leniency to the refugees, then it will be Tanorm that rewards you with a Potion of Clarity and an additional 500xp.
