THE TWISTED RUNE

This is probably one of the hardest fights you will find in Shadows of Amn.

  1. Here is where you arrive from the Bridge District.

  2. When you move inwards, Shangalar, a Lich, will appear here. He makes it clear that you are extremely unwelcome, and that he and his friends intend to make your stay here as short and miserable as they can, before he teleports to 1.

    Shangalar drops 3,890 GP.

  3. Here appears Vaxall, a Beholder; Revenak, a Thief; and Shyressa, a Vampire. Vaxall drops a Beholder Eye which you need to escape.

  4. Over here appears Layene, a high-level Mage. Layene drops the Staff of the Magi and minor treasure.

  5. Once the battle is done, click the cauldron here with the Beholder's Eye in your possession to activate the machine.

  6. Here is a lever. It does nothing until you have dropped Vaxall's Beholder Eye into the cauldron at 5. Once you have done that, the lever will return you to the Bridge District of Athkatla.
