Ruins of Cilant Lis

Ruins of Cilant Lis

This quest takes place entirely in the Ruins of Cilant Lis. And the overarching goal is to make it through to the other side and leave.

  1. The party will arrive at #1 on the Ruins of Cilant Lis map after having been forced to flee from the Encampment.

  2. The most obvious obstacle to reaching the other side of the room is the central room with the glowing tiles at #12 on the map. The tiles are in fact traps that inflict Burning damage on anyone who steps on them.

One way to neutralize the tiles is for a character with a decent Mechanics skill (e.g. Heodan) to go into Stealth mode to find the traps, and then use the Mechanisms skill to disarms them. The skill rank in Mechanisms that is needed varies, with some of them needing 1 or 2 in Mechanisms, and the odd one requiring 3. If you're having trouble, you may want to use the Lockpicks that are available at #7 or from the Encampment.

The alternative way to neutralize the tiles will be to light the Braziers in the room at #13. If you light all of them, some of the tiles at #12 will be turned off, in effect creating a safe path that the party can walkthrough. A Fire Godlike can light the Braziers on his or her own. The other way is to equip a Torch (one can be found in the urn at #) as a weapon, and then light the Braziers.

  3. Another way to the other side is to force your way through the wall at #10. There is more than one way to bring it down. One way is to use the Hammer and Chisel found at #4. Another way is for a character with a Might score of at least 16, like Calisca, to force it down.

  4. Making your way to the exit at #21 completes the quest.
