Council of Stars

Elm's Reach

  1. Finishing The Assassin at Large quest will trigger this quest. The entrance to Teir Evron is at #19 on the Elm's Reach map.

  2. Teir Evron

  3. You start off at #1 on the map of Teir Evron.

  4. Council of StarsThe Luminescent Adra Shard is on the altar at #5. Click on the large crystal at #6 with the Luminescent Adra Shard in your possession, and the shrines in a ring around the crystal will become active. That means you can now pray to the Gods.

  5. There are four shrines you can pray at.

The Shrine to Hylea is at #7. Pray with the words, "Live every note of life's song." Hylea will respond with a vision that ends with the words, "Restore my Temple." That will start The Nest Above the Clouds quest.

The Shrine to Galawain is at #8. Pray with the words, "Survival begins with strength from within." Galawain will respond with a vision that ends with the words, "Blood must feed the Maw, Watcher. See that a new champion reigns." That will start The Old Queen and the New King quest.

The Shrine to Rymrgand is at #9. Pray with the words, "All life ends in stillness." Rymrgand will respond with a vision that ends with the words, "My end comes to all things in time. Seal the Frost-Hewn Breach and instruct the pilgrims in the patience of Rymrgand." That starts the Into the White Void quest.

The Shrine to Berath is at #10. Pray with the words, "There is life in death and death in life." Berath will respond with a vision that ends with the words, "Return them to the Wheel." That will start the quest called A Servant of Death.

  6. If you complete a quest for a god, that God will make a request that pertains to the souls that have been stolen by Thaos, and in return offer a boon in the form of a permanent Talent for your protagonist. The requests and boons are as follows:

    • Berath / Retun the souls to the Wheel (i.e. the reincarnation cycle) / Berath's Boon (+1 Resolve, +5 vs. Paralysis and Petrification)
    • Galawain / Feed the souls to what is left of Dyrwood's people / Galawain's Boon (+1 Might, +1 Athletics)
    • Hylea / Return the souls to the bodies of the Hollowborn children / Hylea's Boon (+1 Perception, +1 Lore)
    • Rymrgand / Let the souls fade into utter oblivion / Rymrgand's Boon (+1 Constitution, +1 Survival)

You can complete each of the four quests given by the Gods, but you can also reserve decision on which request you'll accede to and by extension which Boon you'll accept.

At the end of the day though, you can only request to one divine request and accept only one boon. And you'll need to make that decision at some point to both advance this quest and the main storyline.

  7. *Note* One more thing to keep in mind, you will at the end of the game have a decision to make as it pertains to the souls taken by Thaos. You may fulfill the request of the deity that gave you its favour, but you don't have to. You may in fact deal with the souls in a fashion more in line with what a different deity wanted.

If you deal with the souls in a fashion that was different from what your sponsoring deity wanted, the deity will consider it betrayal and it will affect the endgame epilogue. The epilogue will relate that the deity acted in such a way as to visit death and destruction on a massive scale upon the people of Dyrwood.

  8. Oldsong

  9. Dorvahl will be at #18 on the map of Oldsong map. He is always willing to sail you across to the Burial Isle, even if you have not yet completed quests for any of the Gods.

  10. Burial Isle

  11. Dorvahl will bring you to #1 on the map of Burial Isle map.

  12. Your destination is the pit at #21, and you'll need to safely reach its bottom to make progress. *Note* If you do make it to the bottom of the pit, you cannot come back up. You are committing yourself to playing to the end of the game, and there's no turning back. Therefore, if there's any preparations you want to make beforehand, or if there's anything you've left unfinished but do want to attend to, make sure it's all done before committing yourself to a jump down the pit.

A prerequisite to landing safely at the bottom is have obtain the favor of one of the Gods in the course of the quest. If you do not have that favor, attempting the jump will result in the automatic death of your entire party and the end of your game.

Even if you do have that favor, getting to the bottom without sustaining any injures requires making certain choices during a scripted interaction.

First, you will be in danger of hitting one of the walls on your way down. Avoiding injury requires either grabbing hold of one of your companions, making an Athletics check of 7, or making a Resolve check of 16.

Next, one of your companions will be in danger of falling faster than he or she should. Saving your companion and avoiding injury requires either an Athletics check of 5 or a Resolve check of 18.

Safely reaching the bottom marks the end of the quest. It will also trigger the Memories of the Ancients quest.

Lastly, you will now be at #1 in Breith Eaman.
