MIND FLAYER AREA

To gain access to this area, you must first unlock the door at 4 back in the Sewers using the Sewer Key which you can loot from Tazok at 28 on Level 2 of the Windspear Hills Dungeon.

As you approach the entrance, you are hit by a massive psionic blast that temporarily stuns several of your party members. The dead adventurers lying on the ground are another powerful hint that you are walking into danger.

  1. Here is where you arrive from the Sewers.

  2. Here is a War Party consisting of Fighters, Archers, Assassins, a Mage, a Mind Flayer, and an Umber Hulk. They may drop the odd Short Sword +1 but no other special equipment.

  3. Here you will have to fight an Ulitharid, 3 Mind Flayers, and an Umber Hulk.

  4. Here is the biggest party of Mind Flayers, consisting of an Alhoon, 2 Ulitharids, 3 Mind Flayers, and 2 Umber Hulks.

The table in the middle of the room contains the Hammer of Thunderbolts +3, a Wand of Wonder, a Scroll of Blindness, and a cryptic note of Illithid Correspondence which is of no use whatsoever.
