Corwin would rather be anywhere than within sight of her ex, who she's personally killed 5 times no less. But there's an opportunity for you to benefit.
Beno Famari and two other Crusaders will be at 21 in the courtyard of Dragonspear Castle. Corwin, if she's in the party when you come near Beno, will want to leave the courtyard with all possible speed. You can press her for more background, including that Beno fathered their daughter, Rohma, and that she's personally killed him 5 times but has apparently always been resurrected because of his connections with priests of Lathander.
An xp reward is available by speaking to him despite Corwin's wishes.
He will of course remember Corwin, which leads to him being skeptical of Corwin abandoning the Flaming Fist to join the Crusade. The dialogue options of wanting to join the Crusade out of newfound belief or conviction will naturally stir his skepticism and likely lead to a fight with him and the other two Crusaders. Each of them has a Potion of Healing if you kill them. You'll also get 6,000xp. A nearby Crusader will demand to know what's going on, but it won't be hard to talk your way out of things as the Crusaders place less value in mercenaries like Beno.
Indicating that the Crusade pays better leads to possibilities of more extensive dialogue with Beno, as that justification appeals to Beno's own mercenary motivations. There is also a dialogue option based on the Hero of Baldur's Gate having a Charisma of at least 14 that will also avoid a fight. The dialogue can lead to learning that Beno still cares for Rohma on some level. It's up to you whether you pick a fight with him, or let him go which also earns 6,000xp.
