Speak to the Red Wizard named Vichand at 16 near Boareskyr Bridge while Edwin is in the party. There will be some tense words between the two Wizards.
Now walk away until Vichand is outside the 'fog of war'. Edwin will express a burning desire to kill Vichand. You could do it now, and chances are you can pull it off without anyone else in the Crusade camp noticing.
But it is better to get The Creeping Darkness Quest started first, since that Quest can also be fulfilled by killing Vichand and you won't miss out on its rewards.
Edwin will at some time later reward your character with the Red Robes of Flames after you kill Vichand while Edwin is in the party.
