You'll start at #1 on the map of Queen's
Berth when you first board ship at Neketaka. Travel straight east
along the dock, and Aloth will
want to talk to you. He lets on that he's carrying some guilt over using
a Leaden Key sect to deal with a cult that performed human sacrifices,
but the effort itself went awry. He'll now want your help finding
another hidden sect of the Leaden Key that he's heard of.
Aloth will want to speak to you
some time afterwards, if at this point you have 2 points of positive
reputation with him. He relates that he insinuated himself among the
Animancers earlier because he wanted to learn more about the Leaden Key
sect. What he does know is that they operated independently of Thaos for
at least two millenia. And now he wants more than ever to learn about
them.
Sail to #53 on the World Map.
You'll run into a ship that has the Leaden Key symbol on it. Board the
ship, and use your Watcher powers to speak with the lingering soul left
on the ship. You'll learn that the crew were slaughtered by Huana
warriors.
Now speak with Aloth. A
combined Alchemy check of 4 and Survival check of 4 confirms that Koiki
Pulp was found onboard. That can help Aloth
and yourself cement the conclusion that Wahaki warriors from nearby Ori
O Koiki were behind the slaughter.
You'll start off at #1 on the map of Oro
O Koiki. Kipeha will be at #6. She acts as the gatekeeper for
whether you can enter the village as a welcome visitor, and can grant
permission to use the lift at #7 to enter the village. That is what you
will want if you want to be given this Quest.
You can convince her to let you use the lift and enter the village with:
Paying 1,500cp as an entry fee, after the initial offer of 1,000cp
gets refused.
Making either a Diplomacy or Insight check of 8. Any subsequent
checks won't matter.
Making a Bluff check of 9.
If you started the Fruitful
Alliance Quest, mention that you come on behalf of Queen
Onekaza and follow up with the words "Over crumbling mountains,
across blighted seas". If you mention the Queen, but don't use the
passphrase, Kipeha will fire an arrow at you and turn the village
hostile. An Athletics check of 7 dodges the arrow.
If you started the Tip of
the Spear Quest, mention that the Crookspur Slavers seek
revenge. Any subsequent checks won't matter.
You can then use the lift at #7 to enter the village.
Kipeha will be at #8 afterwards if she allowed you entry into the
village, at least during the daytime. She now sells several items, most
of them being crafting ingredients. The one distinctive item that she
does sell is a Ring called Kaura's
Prize.
You will start off at #1 on the map of the Ori
O Koiki Sanctum. You can now have an audience with Ranga Ruasare
in her throne room at #5. Most of the dialogue with her will be focused
on the Cruel Cargo and Fruitful
Alliance Quests.
But an opportunity to ask her about Thaos and the Leaden Key will emerge
after she makes her demands to wipe out the leaders of the Crookspur
Slavers. You can now use your Watcher powers to read her soul. She was
the ranga of the same Huana tribe generations ago when Thaos arrived and
demanded that she vacate the Engwithan Ruins that are now the Sanctum.
She executed him instead. Thaos was initially angered, but accepted his
temporary death in the realization that it would not end his
immortality, and that it would in the long run prevent incursions into
the ruins themselves.
Speak with Aloth afterwards, and tell him about Ruasare's soul memories. Dialogue options that encourage him to continue his work with respect to the Leaden Key, whether that means destroying it or leading it, will give him the Persistent passive ability. It provides a 25% chance of gaining Concentration upon receiving a Critical Hit.
Dialogue options that encourage him to let the Leaden Key fade away or evolve on its own will result in him getting the Adaptive passive ability. It reduces the cooldown period from switching grimoires by 1 sec.
The conversation concludes the Quest, and you'll get an 8,000xp reward.
