Jacoby also has some recipes for sale, including ones that will raise weapon and armor enhancements to +2, and to make weapons holy or particularly deadly to certain creatures. Also, if you open up trade routes with other towns, such as Highcliff or West Harbor, Jacoby will have even more items for sale, including:
Jacoby will also have more recipes available, such as items that will raise attributes by +4, and for constructing weapons and armors from alternative base materials.
Here is the Phoenix Tail Inn. Inside are a number of individuals. One is the innkeeper, Huldur, who can rent out a room for resting. Another is a Cleric of Waukeen, who is waiting for a deal with the locals to get finalized. Another is a dwarf named Ulweth, who hints that something has driven ferocious Worgs out of Neverwinter Wood, before leaving for the hunt.
Here is Daerred, who is intent on setting up an Adventurer’s Guild.
Here is the entrance to the Merchant Headquarters. Inside will be Sa’Sani and her majordomo, Variel. To make things short, this will be the headquarters of your new company, and Variel runs the day to day for you, as well as putting in place upgrades that you want. But in the meantime, once you’ve set up shop, near the entrance you’ll also find a Caravan Master. Part of your day to day operations is to set up caravan trading routes between neighbouring towns. Basically for a Sword Coast town to be eligible for a caravan route, you have to build a trading post in that town first. This typically requires a trade bar and lumber cost. If two neighbouring towns both have trading posts, you can set up a caravan trade route between them by clicking on one of the towns and then selecting the appropriate options. This requires a gold cost, as does upgrading the route. The more extensive your trade network between towns, potentially the greater the trade bar flow to your company. Incidentally, the Caraven master who waits just outside the entrance to the Merchant Headquarters is the person to talk to if you want to set up a caravan trading route between Crossroad Keep and a neighbouring town. Setting up an early route between the Keep and Highcliff commends itself as an early way to increase your trade bar flow. This is why I recommend holding on to your trade bars when you’re still in Samarach, instead of trading them in for gold. Now you have a pool of trade bars to start building your trade network.
This place won’t be of any significance until you’ve helped your company and Crossroad Keep gain some notoriety. At some point, a man named Jaris will be standing in front of the Alchemist’s House. He has a job for you to do in front of the house.
