Sanitarium

Sanitarium, Main Floor

  1. This is the exit back out to Brackenbury at #16.

  2. The bookcase here has Aedyre Customs.

  3. Here you will find Head Warden Ethelmoer, whose soul has been infused into the statue. He is relevant to The Man Who Waits quest.

  4. Here is Nans, who is relevant to the Clandestine Cargo task.

  5. The bookcase here has the Psalm to Woedica.

  6. Here is Verna, who can answer basic questions about the Sanitarium.

  7. The bookcase here has The Most Unfortunate Tale of Favia and bernat: A Vailian Tragedy.

  8. The bookcase here has Naasitaq Poetry: A Compilation.

  9. The bookcase here has St. Waidwen: Farmer Become God.

  10. Iarmid is here, and his soul history can be read by your Watcher abilities.

  11. The bookcase here has The Midwife's Memoires.

  12. The bookcase here has Animancy in the Modern Age.

  13. The stairs here lead to the Basement at #14.

  14. Sanitarium, Basement

  15. These stairs lead back up to the Upper Floor at #13.

  16. Here is Bellasege, who is relevant to Aloth's personal quest, Two-Sided.

  17. This chest will have some coins in it.

  18. This trunk will have a Wicht inside it, a fact that a Perception check of 18 can reveal. If you use Moedred's Trunk Key to open it as part of the quest called A Voice from the Past, the Wicht will kill Moedred (who's at #16) and then attack you.

  19. Here is Moedred, who is potentially relevant to the quest called A Voice from the Past.

  20. There will also be niches in the larger room with random treasures like gems and coins.

  21. A locked chest here has the following:
    They provide clues that are relevant to The Man Who Waits quest.

  22. Here is Azo's lan assistant, Riply, who provides a clue relevant to The Man Who Waits quest.

  23. The bookcase here has the Note from Azo, which suggests that Caedman Azo is deliberately bypassing official channels to conduct his experiments.

  24. This door will not open unless you first obtain permission from Head Warden Ethelmoer on the first level to investigate the North Patient Ward in the course of The Man Who Waits quest.

  25. This room will be filled with Patients and Flesh Constructs. One patient here, Freyol, will be able to offer information on Caedman Azo's motivations as part of The Man Who Waits quest.

    You can also ask what brought her to the Sanitarium. She initially expresses reluctance, to which Clever, Honest and Passionate replies are possible.

    She is then willing to reveal that she herself had an Awakening, which revealed that she was once a noblewoman living in luxury in a past life. Her current life angers her since it implies the Gods punished her by forcing her soul back in to the lottery of the Great Wheel of Souls. Diplomatic, Passionate, Rational and Stoic replies are possible when she expresses resentment.

  26. The crate here has a Mace called Ravenwing.

  27. The crate here has a Hide Armor called Blaidh Golan.

  28. Caedman Azo is here. At some point you'll need to get his permission to access the North Ward as part of The Man Who Waits quest. When you ask him for permission, any reply besides "you had best cooperate" will suffice to get the North Ward Key. Even if you seemed to have blown it with the 'cooperate' dialogue option, you can simply speak to him again and select a different dialogue option to get the Key.

    The North Ward Key will open the door at #28.

  29. This hidden box will have a random item.

  30. This door needs the North Ward Key to open.

  31. Here is a Patient named Gram, who will clue you in that it's Uscgrim (at #30) that you need to speak to as part of The Man Who Waits quest.

  32. Here is Uscgrim, who provides the focal point for The Man Who Waits quest.

  33. This crate will have a minor random item in it.

  34. Here is a locked pen full of Wichts. The pen will get opened and the Wichts will come out an attack you in the course of The Man Who Waits quest.

  35. This bookcase has a copy of Great Western Stag.

  36. This bookcase will have a copy of The Ethik Nol, plus a random scroll and some coins.
