THE SOUTHERN DUNGEONS

This area is just crawling with undead. Nevertheless, you will have to come here if Korgan or Edwin is in your party, as both their NPC quests (the Book of Kaza and the Nether Scroll, respectively) lead you here.

  1. Here is the exit to the Lower Tombs.

  2. Proceed into the room, and you will be attacked by several undead, including Wraiths, Shadows, Skeleton Warriors, Ghasts, etc. Level drain is an issue, so prepare carefully. Protection from Negative Energy is useful here, as is the Berserk ability of Korgan and Minsc, since berserked characters are immune to level drain.

  3. Both eyes, the mouth, and the left hand on this mosaic are trapped!

  4. Here is a Vampire ready to fight you! Again, watch out for level drains.

  5. Here is a hidden door.

  6. Here are a couple of Mummies preparing to do you in. They can cause a minor disease.

  7. Here are more undead. Again, watch out for level drains!

  8. Here is a floor trap. Click the sarcophagus a couple of times to release a Skeleton Warrior who drops the Spear +1 Halcyon.

  9. Here is another floor trap.

  10. There is yet another floor trap at the entrance to this tomb.

  11. This is the empty tomb where Korgan expected to find the Book of Kaza. Unfortunately his old party has already been here and looted the tomb but they did leave a Mummy and two Skeleton Warriors for you to fight. The Skeleton Warriors each drop a Two-handed Sword +1, a Helmet and some random treasure.

    The vases can be searched for some Arrows +1 and a Potion of Defense.

  12. Here are some more undead.

  13. If you are doing the Nether Scroll quest for Edwin, this is where you will find the Lich Nevaziah. He is easier to take out than most other Liches in the game, as he doesn't put up any magical defenses. Still, watch out for his offensive spells! Besides the Nether Scroll, which Edwin immediately seizes for himself, and which won't show up in his inventory, Nevaziah only drops minor treasure.
