You can get the Quest started for real by going to Fort
Deadlight. First Mate Mabori will greet you as soon as you arrive,
and offer to take you straight to Captain Aeldys.
Aeldys will be in the same room Benweth had been in, within the Deadlight
Donjon. She'll offer a partnership with you, and indicate that you
should next speak to one of her trusted allies, Captain Mad Morena.
You can seek out Mad Morena either after having seen Aeldys first, or
not. The latter will start the Quest in earnest as well. The Narrows are
at #4 on the map of The Gullet.
Clicking on it begins a scripted interaction whereby you can end at
different destinations depending on what paths you take through the
tunnels.
*NOTE* Before you navigate The Narrows, you could make this Quest easier
by pickpocketing the Marked
Suole from Overseer Hitenga at #12.
As for The Narrows themselves, you can go right and then
forward. You'll see a merchant stall. Discovering the pathway behind the
stall without any prior assistance requires either Watcher-only checks
of Streetwise 6 or Perception 18. You can avoid these checks if either
Dereo (if you previously accepted The
Cornett's Call Quest) or Fyrma previously told you that the
passage is behind the stall during the Trade
Secrets Quest.
You will start off at #1 on the map of Delver's
Row. The lift at #11 is your destination. Flashing the Marked
Suole or saying you've been sent by Dereo (if you previously
accepted The Cornett's Call
Quest) will be enough to get you past the guards at #10.
The lift will bring you
to #1 on the map of the Undercroft.
Captain Mad Morena will be at #9. Making a negative comment about her
security will provoke her into attacking. Making a Streetwise check of 6
and giving her 500cp won't do much besides cost you 500cp.
You can indicate that Captain Aeldys sent you, but the dialogue option
for that only becomes available if Aeldys actually did send you. You can
also show her Marked Suole.
If you like, you can follow that up with saying you got it from Dereo to
earn Clever disposition. Either method will convince her to trust you
with the job. The job itself is to bring her three Crates
of Crude Luminous Adra.
One way to obtain what you need is to go to the Luminous Adra Mill at
#21 on the map of Queen's
Berth at #32.
Cortina is willing to sell them to you at 2,000cp per crate if you have
3 points of positive reputation with the Vailian Trading Company. You
can reduce that rate to 1,500cp if you make a follow-up Diplomacy check
of 6. You can also get them at 1,500cp, even if you don't have
reputation with the Vailian Trading Company, by making a Bluff check of
9.
Alternatively, you can have a character with a decent Stealth skill take
them unnoticed out of the various containers in the Mill.
Another method is to board and loot ships of the Vailian Trading
Company on the World Map. Each Company
ship will have two of the Crates as part of the loot.
Go back to Mad Morena for a 10,640xp reward, and a Sabre called Tarn's
Respite.
Go back to Captain Aeldys and she'll reward you with a Hide Armor
called the Swift Hunter's Garb.
