Here is where you encounter the Shackled Soul. It will first appear as
Iovarra, then Thaos, then as Maerwald, and then itself as a Wood Elf but
with a darker complexion than Iovarra. You will gain a Trinket called Betrayal at the end of the
encounter.
You'll have to fight a Soul Collector and a few Strangled Souls at
these points.
Going through this portal leads to one of the Trials as part of The
Endless Queries Quest. It will afterwards also take you to the
portal at #8.
