Visitors Generally

Visitors will occasionally arrive at your Keep, and typically move on after a few days instead of taking up permanent residence. A given visitor can end up adjusting the Security and Prestige of your stronghold for the duration of his or her stay. For some visitors, the effects will be positive (e.g. the Wealthy Lord) while for others the effects will be negative (e.g. the Cruel Lord).

Generic visitors will also arrive wanting an escort to help them safely reach another destination. Your typical options are to pay them off with some cp, suffer some temporary penalties to your Security and Prestige by refusing the request, or designating one of your joinable companions to escort them. If you go with the last option, that companion will not be available for any companion adventures, or for joining your party, or for the special visitor encounters described below.

Merchants

Sometimes merchants will arrive as well. Most of them sell generic goods.

There is a special merchant named Azzuro. When he first arrives, he would like your assistance in ensuring that his caravan arrives safely at its destination. Your choices are to rebuff his request (not advisable if you want access to his goods), pay him 5,000cp to aid his delivery, or send any one of Eder, Pallegina or Sagani to escort his caravan. The last choice results in the companion you choose becoming unavailable for 10 days.

If you aided Azzuro, he will thereafter occasionally pop by and offer one item from his inventory. That item can be purchased from the Stronghold menu. If you purchase the item, it will appear in your treasury in the Great Hall. The possible items are:

If Azzuro arrives with an item, but perhaps not the one you wanted, it is a simple enough matter to simply reload a previous save (i.e. typically one of your Autosaves before Azzuro arrives) and trigger his arrival until he comes with the item you want.
