MAZZY'S SISTER HAS BEEN POISONED

About 10 days after you have accepted Mazzy into your party, when you are travelling outside, her cousin Dalo Longfoot approaches her and tells her that she must come to the family home in Trademeet. Her sister Pala has been poisoned and is dying!

If you want to keep Mazzy in your party there is no way around this. So...

  1. Go to Trademeet. If you haven't been here before, you will find some hostile animals fighting the city militia when you arrive. This is part of the Animal Attacks in Trademeet quest.

  2. In Trademeet, find the Fentan home at 17 on the map and enter. Mazzy will automatically speak to her mother, Vara Fentan, and her sister's lover, Danno. Both suspect a Gnomen peddler named Wallace as the poisoner.

  3. Wallace can be found at 12 on the Trademeet map. But of course he denies being a poisoner. He does tell you that he has a new supplier of potions, Barl in the Temple of Waukeen.

  4. The temple can be found at 15. Enter and speak to Overgold Renwellyn. With but minimal prodding, Renwellyn agrees to search Barl's private quarters.

  5. And returns with evidence that Barl had some very suspicious-looking equipment in his quarters: An alchemy set and a symbol of Tarona, the Mistress of Poison. Hmmm...

  6. Overgold Renwellyn summons Barl and confronts him with the evidence. Which leads to violent confrontation. Barl summons two poison mists to his aid and attacks.

Barl drops a bottle which Mazzy automatically seizes. The party gains 25,000 XP.

  7. The party is automatically returned to the Fentan home where Mazzy gives the bottle to Pala. Who immediately feels better.

  8. Mazzy leaves the party to stay with her family for one day. The party gains 3,500 XP.

  9. If you go back to the Temple of Waukeen, you can loot Barl's earthly remains for Plate Mail Armor, a Large Shield +1, 2 Potions of Extra Healing, a Flail, and some minor treasure.

  10. One day later you can return to recruit Mazzy back into the party.
