THE CELLAR

These old dungeons, or "cellars" as Nalia insists on calling them, is where the Troll leader TorGal is hiding out. And he is not alone.

  1. Here are the stairs up to Level 2 of the keep.

    The chest at (x=870, y=270) is trapped and contains a Shield Amulet, 10 Arrows of Fire besides minor treasure and mundane weapons.

    The box at (x=990, y=510) contains 20 Darts of Wounding, 40 Arrows of Fire, and 40 Acid Arrows.

  2. In this room will be two Trolls and a Spectral Troll. One of the two cabinets holds a Scroll of Protection from Normal Weapons.

  3. This is the Umber Hulk Room, where you can find 5 Umber Hulks. Let your party Cleric cast Sanctuary on him- or herself and then carry the Dog Stew you cooked (you did, didn't you?) on Level 1 to the container at 4 to lure the Umber Hulks away for 18,750 XP.

    Or, kill the Umber Hulks for 4,000 XP apiece.

    Cheese: You can get both XP bonuses if you first kill the Umber Hulks, and then place the Dog Stew! ;-)

    Once you've gotten rid of the Umber Hulks one way or another, loot the room:

    The box at (x=1910, y=1000) contains minor treasure and mundane weapons plus 60 Darts +1.

    The chest at (x=2090, y=880) contains minor treasure, 40 Bullets +1 and 40 Bullets +2.

    The locked chest at (x=1900, y=740) contains minor treasure, 40 Bolts +2, and 40 Bolts of Biting.

    The chest at (x=1740, y=710) contains minor treasure and Orc Leather +3.

  4. This is where you will want to place the Dog Stew.

  5. Before entering this room, prepare for a hard battle. This is where you will meet the Troll boss TorGal. Depending on your level he may be accompanied by only 2 Giant Trolls, or he may have a number of Spectral Trolls and Spirit Trolls with him in addition to the Giant Trolls. TorGal drops a bit of minor treasure.

    Once all Trolls have been eliminated, you can find Nalia's father dead at the top of the room. Nalia will, understandably, be very upset. The pillar here can be looted for a Scroll of Feeblemind, 2,126 GP, 5 Bloodstone Gems, a Bloodstone Amulet, a Moonbar Gem, and a Water Opal.
