Here is a Vailian woman named Baltia, who is being held fast by strangler vines. She is in real danger of dying.
You can free her either by having a Druid in the party, or having a party member make a Strength check of 16. If you fail to do either, she will die.
If you do manage to free her, Baltia is willing to join your ship as a Crew Member.
Spirits of a previous Vailian expedition will be here, and you can use your Watcher powers to interact with them and learn what befell them.
Xoti can absorb them into her lantern if she's in the party.
This tree is guarded by a Pwgra, along with Jungle Lurkers, a Greater Storm Blight, and a Rotghast Slinger. Killing them off is the straightforward way to deal with things.
Another way is to have your Stealth character sneak past the guardians and click on the tree to begin a scripted interaction. Either a Druid character in the party (e.g., Tekehu) or having The Spine of Thicket Green in your inventory allows you to heal the tree during the scripted interaction. Doing so turns the hostile Pwgra into a friendly Delemgan, and her minions won't attack you either. She also hints that she may be willing to help you against her mother, The Rotted Lady, who is the source of the grove's corruption.
A hidden niche at the bottom of the tree has an Exceptional Mace.
There will be a large number of Corrupted Tigers and Bog Bats to fight here, and possibly a few other creatures as well.
Here is another tree, protected by a Pwgra, as well as a few Corrupted Tigers and a Lesser Bog Ooze. And again you can either kill them off, or use either a Druid or The Spine of Thicket Green to heal the tree. And likewise, healing the tree turns the Pwgra into a friendly Delemgan.
