WEEPING WILLOW INN
A Dwarf in a Brawl
I travel to the Weeping Willow Inn at #1. I go ahead to #2 and soon come across the Dwarf named Khelgar eagerly picking a fight with three Brawlers. Again, I want to land the killing blow on each of them instead of Khelgar so that I get the xp. Sometimes this means not attacking a Brawler until Khelgar has softened him up first.
Khelgar's Vision Quest
Khelgar and Valeria go inside the Inn, where he explains his desire to find the Temple of Tyr in Neverwinter and become a Monk. Some Duergar Dwarves and a Bladeling burst in through the door at #1. I equip Khelgar with his Dwarven Waraxe and the Light Shield +1 that Georg gave me. I then slaughter the monsters with routine methods.
Under Assault
I now speak to an old woman named Gera at #3 of the first floor. The stairs up to the second floor are at #4.
I arrive at #1 of the second floor, and am almost immediately beset by a lot of Duergar Dwarves. The strategy is pretty much the same. Put Khelgar out first, and then let Valeria pick her spots for sneak attacks.
I go to the right. The room at #2 has two Bladelings attacking a man named Zachan. I kill the Bladelings and advise Zachan that he's free and safe to go downstairs. This is enough to fulfill the "Under Assault" quest, and get 50xp.
However, at #3 are more Duergar Dwarves attacking the merchant Galen and his two Guards. I manage to get the killing blow on all three of the Duergar. I then speak to Galen for a bit.
There are plenty of chests and containers on this level with random loot. Valeria runs into a footlocker that she can't open, so she simply has Khelgar bash it open.
I head back downstairs and speak to Gera again for another 150xp. I turn down her gp award in order to get alignment points towards good.
Leaving the Weeping Willow
I speak to Jorik at #2 on the first floor to sell off my excess loot. He has some armor and weapons to sell, either generic or at most a +1 enhancement bonus. I'm usually not keen on spending gold on interim items. Valeria and Khelgar then leave the Weeping Willow together.
Next up is the Swamp Cave.
