RED CANYONS

Roger

Now I journey to the area just south of the High Edge, and arrive at the south edge. I end up having to kill three Ghouls along the way.

I then journey west, and casually dispatch a few monsters. I encounter yet another messenger, this one named Roger.

Bassilus

Towards the southeast corner of the area is a Cleric of Cyric named Bassilus, as well as many undead minions. Bassilus can be a dangerous opponent with his spells, especially for lower level parties. If you're wanting to take him on as a lower level party, one thing to keep in mind is that selecting the right dialogue options (1-3-1-1) can convince him to get rid of most of his undead servants. After that, try to stay on top of him and interrupt his spells as much as possible.

I'm higher level now, so I blow most of his undead away with a Fireball from Imoen. Kivan also poisons him with Arrows of Biting. After that it's pretty much decided.

He leaves behind cursed Gauntlets of Fumbling (-10 THAC0, -2 Dexterity), a Holy Symbol that I'll want to hold onto in order to get a quest reward, as well as the War Hammer +2 'Ashideena' (+1 electrical damage). This will be Yeslick's weapon for the rest of the game.

Zorgal

Now I continue northwest, where there will be a trio of Hobgoblin Archers led by Zargal. The same formula of having Khalid and Yeslick go on ahead and make the initial approach to absorb the poisoned missile fire works here as well. Zargal leaves behind a Shortsword +2.

Kissiq

Now I go northwards and routinely kill three Ghouls. A man named Kissiq appears, and relates that he has been spooked by a talking chicken.

Melicamp the Talking Chicken

Now I head towards the northeast and kill a Wolf. Soon after, Melicamp the Talking Chicken speaks with me. The short of it is that he wants me to bring him to his Master, in the nearby High Hedge, which I agree to. He'll then appear as an item in my inventory.
