Meeting with Sydney Natale
When you arrive, Sydney explains to you the weakness of the Shadow Reavers, invoking their True Names which is inscribed on a scroll she has brought. She has no use for you alive however. The only one she wants alive is Zhjaeve since her Githzerai heritage allows her to both comprehend the scroll’s contents and recite the True Names effectively in order to render the Reavers vulnerable. She also now intends to carry out the deal she reached with Jahric by killing Qara as well.
Word of advice: Having all three of you protected by Spell Immunity: Fire will definitely help over the long haul of this combat. She summons the Animus Elemental to begin with. Hit it as hard and fast as you can. Zhjaeve should definitely nail it with Destruction or similar spells. Once its gone, Sydney and her bodyguard, Jalboun of the Two Blades, will make their move. You can however convince Jalboun to switch sides by offering to double his wages. In any event, combat starts with Luskan Assassins swarming all over you. Since they converge on you from all sides, crank out any party-friendly area effect spells that you have. Sydney herself takes considerable effort to kill though. She’ll bombard the party with offensive spells and summon a lot of conjured creatures to help her. She also teleports away a number of times with renewed health. Once she does for the last time though, she can be killed permanently. Once she’s dead, loot her body for the Ring of Power and the book, Deflections and Dispellings. There is also an ore vein nearby. If you convinced Jalboun to switch sides, you can now talk him into being a sergeant at Crossroad Keep.
Find the World Map Transition (it’s a small area) and head back to Crossroad Keep. Ammon Jerro and Zhjaeve will have at each other over the True Name scroll that you have just obtained. The result is the same in any event, Ammon can now also use the True Name scroll.
In the meantime, news will reach you that a Shadow Reaver has been spotted nearby the Keep. Speak to Kana about it, and the location will now be marked on your World Map. You can also talk to Guyven so that, in very obtuse fashion, he’ll explain the idea of sneaking up on the Shadow Reaver from the backside of his camp. I did not find that talking to or not talking to him resulted in any significant consequence. If you summoned Mephasm in the basement of the Keep, he can also explain the concept of sneaking up on the Reaver.
