Harrowing Chamber

Harrowing Chamber

When you arrive, you'll happen upon Uldred and his servants forcing a Mage to transform into yet another Abomination. You then speak with Uldred for some time, but it all boils down to one thing. Uldred is revealed to be a Pride Demon, now unleashed in its true form on the world.Uldred

The Pride Demon is capable of dispelling magic, freezing enemies in place with cold attacks, and using fire attacks from afar. Both its physical attacks, and its Fire Blast, are capable of knocking its opponents back. Despite the enormous amount of hit points he has, keep on him first and foremost and don't go after the Abominations. You may by the way make the Abominations less of a factor with spells like Waking Nightmare or Captivating Song. The Litany of Andralla is also very useful in this regard. It has a fast casting time, and can be used periodically to both stun and damage the Abominations within a certain radius. Thus you can concentrate on the Pride Demon while having one character periodically zip off the Litany of Andralla to cut the Abominations down to size. Use your Health Poultices to keep your fighters healthy, and Lyrium Potions to keep your mages pumping. Immoblize the Pride Demon (e.g. Cone of Cold) as often you can, and you should be able to wear him down. When slain, the Pride Demon will leave behind the Cinderful Gauntlets (Inscribed), as well as a few other random high-grade items.

Pride DemonWhen its all said and done, its a matter of escorting Irving downstairs. Now you're faced with a choice. One choice is to convince Greagoir that there aren't any Blood Mages or Abominations left, this means that the Circle of Magi will be your allies in the coming war against the Darkspawn. The other choice is to convince Greagoir that its best to avoid any risk, and to invoke the Rite of Annulment. This means that the Templars will be your allies in the coming war.
