  1. Here is the exit to the Overland Map.

  2. Yaun-tiHere you’ll have to fight a Yuan-ti Holy Guardian and a couple of Spider Constructs. Something to keep in mind about the Yuan-ti here, they’re definitely not the pushoever Yuan-ti some of you may be familiar with from the Icewind Dale series. These Yuan-ti like to have spell protections in place before starting physical combat, so they can go a considerable distance. Also, they dual wield poisoned blades that can quickly take down a single character. It gets even worse since they often haste themselves. If you can help, try not to take on more than one, or at most two, at a time.

  3. Here you’ll fight another Yuan-ti Holy Guardian and two spider constructs. Here you’ll find a Sauringar Tome, the Ruin Fragments that Volo wants, and a pile of scrolls.
  4. Here is the lever that you have to switch to open the door at #5.

  5. Here is a locked door. You need to hit the switch at #4 to open it.

  6. Here are several Yuan-ti. All of them together will simply overwhelm most parties. I managed to clear this out with a simple yet cowardly strategy. I had my Paladin command the party to stay put near the entrance. He would then tread slowly forward just enough to get the attention of the nearest Yuan-ti. Ideally only one or at most two Yuan-ti come forward. Take one out, or another if you judge you have enough resources. Go out the entrance and rest outdoors. Come back in and repeat the process. If you take one out and another is attacking a party that has already taken a beating, you can still make for the exit to rest up. Yeah, I know it’s cheesy, but hey.

  7. In this room you’ll find a Bracers of Armor +1, a Wand of Fireballs, and the Shattered Spear that the Shattered Spear Tribe wants.
