Dyrford Village

  1. You can find Hendyna at #18 in the Dyrford Village. Benevolent, Cruel, Honest and Rational responses are available when you first speak to her.

    She would like your help in securing a Dragon Egg from nearby Dyrford Crossing.

  2. Dyrford Ruins EntranceHowever you seek to navigate the area, the Iron Brand mercenary group will ultimately stand in the way of completing the task because they want the egg for themselves. They can be found at #22 on the Dyrford Crossing map. There's more than one way to approach the initial encounter:

    • You can choose either an Aggressive or Diplomatic reply, which will result in your fighting all of them.
    • You can make a Resolve check of 13, which will result in Raolf and Norgar leaving, but having to fight the rest of them.
    • You can make either an Intellect check of 18 or a check based on having the Explorer background to convince Elfyna to leave, but having to fight the rest of them. Either course earns Deceptive disposition.
    • You can pay the group 800cp to get them to leave altogether.

    If you do fight them, the loot includes:

  3. Dyrford Ruins EntranceThe Dragon Egg itself is at #23. In what condition you can retrieve it depends on your particular approach to getting to the precipe and trying to bring the egg down from it during a scripted interaction. The following possibilities lead to a Broken Dragon Egg:

    • Making an Athletics check of at least 5, but not making a Constitution check of at least 20
    • Using a Rope and Grappling Hook, but not making a Constitution check of at least 16.

    The following possibilities lead to a Dragon Egg in perfect condition:

    • Making an Athletics check of at least 5, and then making a Constitution check of at least 20
    • Making an Athletics check of at least 5, and then using a Rope and Grappling Hook on the way down.
    • Using a Rope and Grappling Hook, and then making a Constitution check of at least 16.
    • Using a Rope and Grappling Hook both on the way up, and on the way down.

    Keep in mind that you can select any character in the party to undertake the actions during the scripted interaction, so you can by all means have a character who can pass the Athletics check and/or Constitution check to get the Egg. Keep in mind that passing both the Athetics check and a Constitution check of 20 may be unlikely, so you may want to bring at least one Rope and Grappling Hook for this scripted interaction.

  4. Your reward will depend on what condition you bring the Egg in when you return to Hendyna. Giving her the Broken Dragon Egg will result in her giving you 600cp, a minor reputation boost with Dyrford Village, a 15% discount with her store, a Xuarip Tongue, a River Reed, and an Amethyst.

  5. Giving her the Dragon Egg in perfect condition will result in her giving you 600cp, a moderate reputation boost with Dyrford Village, a 15% discount with her store, a Xuarip Tongue, a River Reed, and an Emerald.
