OFFICER'S TOWER

Sprawg

Now I go back down to the fourth level. I speak with Rikki again, who gives me another mission. I must intercept envoys from a Cabal of Dragonkin, but to reach the interception point I must get a key from the Captain of the Guard.

So I head south for the Officer's Tower. On the first floor will be two Chimeras, as well as a very large force of the legion led by Sprawg. I start combat by having Akutagawa instantly kill one of the Chimeras with a Quivering Palm. The main force has to get at me through a narrow doorway, which provides me with the perfect opportunity to set up crowd-control and cloud-damage spells over the choke point. The battle then plays itself out naturally.

Sprawg leaves behind the Monkey Paw of Discipline (+3 mace, 15% chance of Emotion: Fear on target, 5% chance of Confusion on target) but I'm not interested.

Morvyn

On the next level there are two Apocalyptic Bonegaurds standing at the door. On the other side of the door are several Xymvian Monks led by Eltob and Morvyn. Remember, Monks have Evasion too, so don't rely on spells that allow a Reflex saving throw. Instead, I put myself at a distance. Lady Elanna first casts Executioner's Eyes, and then hits the Monks with Horrid Wilting. Afterward, it's straight physical combat against the weakened Monks. Stygar manages to blow away the Apocalyptic Boneguards with his Club of Disruption, before switching back to his Balance axe.

Morvyn leaves behind:

Captain Pudu and Vyxvein

I spend the early part of the video exploring the third level of the Officer's Tower, checking for any loot that might prove useful.

I then go up to the fourth level, and intrude upon a weird dialogue between a Half-Goblin named Captain Pudu and a Half-Dragon named Vyxein. Combat becomes inevitable.

This is straight physical combat, so Lady Elanna naturally casts Executioner's Eyes. Note the narrow path to the other side of the room. I don't cross it and risk a single character getting gang up on by the pair. I let them come to me.

I go all out for Captain Pudu first, for 2 reasons. One is Vyxein can defend herself repeatedly by multiple castings of Mirror Image. You won't be able to bring her down right away. Second, Captain Pudu packs the more dangerous weapon. Targeting him thus means the quicker path to reducing the battle to one enemy instead of two, and lessening the risk to myself. One he goes down I stay on top of Vyxein, using Heal or my own defensive spells when necessary. Elanna helps matters along with Mass Haste.

Captain Pudu leaves behind:

Now it's time for the Final Battles.
