I head towards the gate at #12. A young girl named Kua'rra beckons me to visit the Hill Tribe at the Wells of Lurue.

Mabata of Shou

I rest up for 8 hours after leaving Mulsantir through its front gates. After that, I issue a 'stand your ground' command and have Valeria approach a nearby Telthor Wolf by herself. She uses her Provoke Spirits power to get it to attack. She initially connects with a couple of melee attacks. After that, she pecks it down with a couple of Shocking Grasp spells bring it to 'near death'. She can then use Devour Spirit on it to fully replenish her spirit energy.

I briefly travel to the Wells of Lurue and then back to the Mulsantir Gate. That is when the Shou family will appear near the world map exit at #5. I won't be able to talk to them if Okku is in the party.

But he's not, so I'm able to learn that Mabata of Shou had his wagon destroyed by Okku's spirit army earlier on. I offer to buy him a new one. The wagon can be purchased for 10,000gp from Azim in the Mulsantir market square.

I get an xp reward after giving Mabata the good news. He also gives me a pair of boots, the Longstrider Steps (+3 Constitution, Freedom of Movement, Improved Evasion, Mass Haste (11) 1 / day).

Now it is time to explore the Wells of Lurue in earnest.

Okku Rejoins

I'm done with Thay, so now it's time to bring Okku back in and kick Safiya out.

I now also give Okku the Astral Rodent Charm, which will provide him with a +1 dodge bonus to armor class, and a +4 boost to his already fearsome Strength score.

My next destination is the Wells of Lurue.
