Reforming the Silver Sword

Zhjaeve must accompany you for this. Make your way to the Ruins of Arvahn. Take the Song Portal at #8. You’ll find yourself inside the Illefarn Ruins that housed the fifth statue for the Ritual of Purification. Go out the door and you’ll now find yourself in the thoroughly dessicated West Harbor.

  1. Your starting point. 

  2. Here you’ll find the seeming spirits of Ward and Web Mossfeld. They go on about bemoaning their unfortunate fates and wanting to help you, but they’re Greater Shadows wanting to lead you into an ambush at the Bridge at #3. A good enough Intelligence check by your PC however can spot the ruse and oblige a fight right here and now.

  3. Here is the broken bridge. Zhjaeve will caution you against crossing the now poisonous water. You can swim across and take possibly some Constitution and negative energy damage. Or you can try building a bridge. To pull this off, your character must click onto the logs marked by #4 and have a decent crafting skill. (e.g. Craft Armor or Craft Arms, etc.) Note that it’s your PC that must have such a skill and not one of your companions.

  4. Here are the logs needed to rebuild the bridge.

  5. Here is where you meet the spirit of Danan Starling for the first time. How nice or how callous you want to be to him is a roleplaying choice that has certain repercussions shortly thereafter. In any event, you’ll get ambushed by a bunch of Greater Shadows.

  6. Here is where you’ll find what is supposedly the spirit of Retta Starling. Danan will now approach for a second time. If you were mean to him beforehand, he’ll become a Shadow as well and attack you. In any event, the fake Retta reveals its true nature and attacks you as a Greater Shadow. Speak to Danan again, and Zhjaeve will be able to help his spirit pass on. You’ll also discover that he had been carrying Meade’s Root, which prevented him from becoming a Shadow like the others. This enables you to get rid of the Constitution damage you’ve been suffering. You also get 250xp for laying his spirit to rest.

  7. Silver SwordHere is the scar where you and Zhjaeve will sit in meditation together and reform the Silver Sword of Gith together. Shortly thereafter, another Shadow Reaver will attack you. He will be helped out by two Blade Golems, some Greater Shadows and some Fire Elementals. Have Zhjaeve r-click on the True Name Scroll in her inventory and target it on the Shadow Reaver. Once she completes the incantation, you can kill the Reaver permanently. He’ll leave behind a Black Robe of the Archmagi.

  8. World Map Transition. There’s a negative energy trap in front of it. 

Now’s it time to head back to Crossroad Keep because a war about to start.
