Gelidia
Apport Gelidia
I go back to the Old Man in Skara Brae, who is hit hard by the news of Valarian's death. He also takes Valarian's Bow and the Arrows of Life from the party. *Note* No need to worry, you'll get these and the items from the other dimensions back later on.
He also rewards the party members each with 600,000xp, and re-energizes any spellcasters.
My next destination is Gelidia, where I am to try and find the God of Magic, Lanatir, or bring back Lanatir's Sphere and the Wand of Power. Talia learns the Apport Gelidia and Reditus Gelidia spells. The site where the spells can be used is named Cold Peak.
Cold Peak
First things first, I get the Old Man to advance everyone at least a couple of levels. Mordred advances two levels, insisting on plenty of Hit Points, +19 Spell Points and +1 Constitution.
Talia advances six levels, and insists on +22 Hit Points, +19 Spell Points and +1 Luck each time.
The other characters have maxed out their Constitution scores, so now they can address new priorities. I insist on +22 Hit Points and +1 Luck both times for Cassandra. There's an item that she can use to stun monsters within 20', and a better Luck score will make that more effective.
I insist on minimum 28+ Hit Points for the front-line characters. I insist on +1 increases to Dexterity for Lord Stygar, Ariel and Gallard in order to improve their AC. Zarathos gets +1 increases to Intelligence.
Talia puts her Shadow Shield back up, and I leave Skara Brae. I find the circle of runes at Cold Peak, which is just a little north of Skara Brae. Talia casts Apport Gelidia.
Alendar's Diary
There are only two purposes to be served in the outdoors of Gelidia. And indeed, staying outdoors for too long here will result in every party member losing a few Hit Points with each time turn. It makes sense only to fulfill those two purposes with all haste.
The first purpose is to reach the house a little southeast of your initial entry point, where you read the diary of a man named Alendar. Lanatir and the defenders of the Ice Keep fell to a massive invasion by the forces of Tarjan. Alendar in sheer desperation cast a spell of eternal winter to try and take the monsters with him. The Diary also drops the hint that Hawkslayer was a person of some esteem in Gelidia.
The other purpose is to enter the Ice Keep, which is a little southeast of the house.
