DARK DOMAIN, LEVEL 3

Dark Domain, Level 3

Concentric Hallways

*Note* Phase Door and Apport Arcane won't help you on this level. I go one square west to a teleporter at 21N 20E, and it takes me to 10N 10E.

I am now at the center of the level, surrounded by concentric hallways. I go 9N 11E, a dark square, and step through the door to the east. I put my Cat Eyes spell back up.

After that, the walls of the concentric hallways consist of one-way walls. You won't see the walls until you step past one outwards, and it will appear behind you preventing you from going back.

I make my 11N 13E. From there I win fights against random monsters at 13N 13E, 13N 7E, 7N 7E and 7N 13E.

After that, continue north through the door, and then east through the door. Unfortunately there's no avoiding the anti-magic square at 11N 17E. I go north one square from it, and put my persistent spells back up.

Hotwind

I go generally west until I fight random monsters at 10N 5E. I continue north and east until I fight more random monsters at 20N 12E. I continue north until I get out of the dark zone, and put my Cat Eyes spell back up.

I do another fight against random monsters at 4N 17E. At 3N 21E is a corpse near a tomb marked "Hotwind". There is no ingame significance to this, it was just a way for me to mark my progress for purposes of this walkthrough.

Master of the Mind

Note that there are squares that both snuff out magic spells and Bard songs at 3N 9E, 4N 8E, 4N 9E and 4N 10E. Also note that there are smaller rooms on either side that have set encounters against random monsters.

I do all the fights, even if it involves the hassle of going through the anti-magic squares multiple times and putting my persistent spells and Traveller's Tune back up every time. Also, I'm more willing to expend Spell Points in these fights, whether it's offensive spells against numerous enemies or a Restoration spell to keep the Winged Creature alive. I'll get the Spell Points back soon enough on this very level.

At 3N 14E is a Magic Mouth that asks who the master of the mind is. The correct answer is: "Mangar". The Magic Mouth now states that the stairs to the next level are available. I go back out past the anti-magic squares for the last time, and then put my persistent spells and Traveller's Tune back up.

Monster Reformatory

First I go to 1N 1E, where I fight random monsters. I then fight more random monsters at 4N 1E. That square also replenishes Spell Points, so I wait until both Talia and Mordred are fully recharged.

I head south and past the southern edge until I loop around to the north edge of the level. At 18N 1E is a Magic Mouth that asks for a password. The correct answer is "Pass".

The stairs to the fourth level is at 18N 0E.
