CAVE OF THE DEAD

This is the cave where the people of Amkethran bury their dead. You can't enter until you have agreed to Rescue Marlowe's Daughter.

  1. Here is the entrance from Amkethran.

  2. This is where you will meet Vongoethe. You can fight him in connection with Marlowe's quest if you don't want to make deals with Liches. If you do, he drops a Ring of Anti-Venom.

When done with Vongoethe, you can play with the four tables in the room for some extra fights. Each time you turn a table, you disarm some of the traps on the false cabinets above.

The leftmost table at (x=500, y=550) releases four Greater Fire Elementals.

The topmost table at (x=750, y=400) releases four Greater Air Elementals.

The lowermost table at (x=720, y=720) releases two Ice Golems.

The rightmost table at (x=960, y=570) releases four Fission Slimes. They are susceptible to fire; other forms of damage cause them to split into two slimes apiece, and things can very quickly get out of hand.

  3. Many of the cabinets up here are trapped and most don't lead anywhere. The one at (x=800, y=210) is one of the possible ways into Balthazar's Monastery at the end of chapter 9.
