KILL A BEHOLDER

When you meet with Phaere on the platform at 2 in Ust Natha, she tells you to help her and Solaufein kill an Eye Tyrant – a Beholder. The Beholder will be at the platform in the southwestern corner of the city shortly. Phaere and Solaufein teleport away, leaving you to find the way to the meeting point on your own.

  1. The meeting point is at 16 in Ust Natha. Just go there.

  2. Before going down to the platform, prepare for a Beholder battle: Any party members who are to fight should be protected from Petrification and have a Death Ward cast on them.

  3. Go down to the platform and speak to Phaere. The Beholder will appear in short order.

    You may want to get any unprotected party members away from the entrance to the platform, where the Beholder will appear. Just move them to the other end of the platform and wait there.

  4. When the Beholder appears, take it down as quickly as possible. The party gains 20,000 XP. Phaere orders you to meet her again at the tavern in three days.

  5. When you next speak to Phaere in the Ust Natha Tavern, she gives you the quest to Teach the Deep Gnomes a Lesson.
