SOLDIER'S PEAK
Levi Dryden
Here I speak to Levi Dryden while in Camp and agree to help him explore Soldier's Peak.
To Soldier's Peak
Levi Dryden guides me to Soldier's Peak. I go up the trail for a bit and then there's a cutscene that involves soldiers of Ferelden in a siege against the Keep.
Master Acolyte
I step further into the Courtyard, and then a few Arland Skeletons rise. This fight shows how combining a few choice sustained abilities can really turn close quarter combat in the party's favour. It really becomes a matter of hacking them down with little effort.
A few more Skeletons rise in the pathway leading up and westwards. They are led by a Warden Acolyte who is a Mage. The Acolyte is the immediate priority, so Aldarion gets him right away with Crushing Prison. Aldarion adds in a Lightning spell to make sure the Acolyte dies before the Crushing Prison lapses. It then becomes a matter of killing off the rest of the Skeletons in melee combat.
I click on the statue at the end of the path. This leads to a Codex Entry involving the history of the Keep, as well as starting the side quest called Ancient History.
Master Warden Scout
A few more Skeletons waken in the Courtyard behind me, led by a Warden Master Scout. It's again a matter of overwhelming them in up close combat, helped along by my sustained abilities and Wynne's healing abilities. The Warden Master Scout leaves behind the Antique Warden's Crossbow (+1 damage, rapid aim), which becomes Alistair's missile weapon for the remainder of the game. It fits thematically with Alistair's character, but it also has its -0.5 reduction in firing time going for it.
Now I enter the first level of Warden's Keep.
