VILLAGE OF HONNLEATH

Sulcher's Pass

Here is me travelling to Sulcher's Pass to get the Golem Control Rod from Felix the merchant.

Olaf's Prized Cheese Knife

The first few Genlocks are easy enough to kill. The road takes a left turn into a large area filled with Darkspawn. They're scattered apart, so Leliana starts using her bow. This effectively splits the Darkspawn into two small forces. The melee Darkspawn come forward to get killed off by Aldarion, Alistair, and my Wolf. The Archers get shot down by Leliana and Wynne. The same thing goes for another Darkspawn force a little further ahead to the north. There will be a nearby chest that I can't open until I find a key for it.

Now I go west. There will be a large group of Darkspawn waiting at the top the hill, lead by a Hurlock Alpha. The road leading to the hill curves up and to the right, and again this is a feature that I use to my advantage. Alistair gets their attention and then regroups with the party. Aldarion and Wynne blanket the top of the hill with Earthquake + Blizzard + Tempest. The warriors kill any that come forward.

The force that is farther in is more spread out, so I kill them off with a mix of missile fire from Leliana and Wynne, and having Aldarion, Alistair, and the Wolf chase down the other force.

A dead villager leaves behind the Bloodied Bronze Key. I use it to open Olaf's chest and find a random item plus Olaf's Prized Cheese Knife (+1 armor penetration).

Golem Control Rod

And in the middle of the village is the Golem that Felix referred to. And well ... the Golem Control Rod doesn't work.

Guess I'll have to explore Wilhelm's Cellar.
