Does the Gaming World Need a Sequel of Days Gone?
Published 13/6/2021

Days Gone is one of the best games ever released for PlayStation devices. It is a post-apocalyptic game that has zombies, drama and action, which was enjoyed by millions all over the world. Because of its success, more and more gamers have started asking for a sequel, but for the time being, it does not look like a Days Gone 2 is on the way towards being released. However, if a Days Gone sequel were to be released, then we would be talking about a 9th generation title that will leave its mark in history.

Which Players Did Days Gone Appeal to?

Days Gone is a game that will be enjoyed not only by those who are looking for action and zombies but also by those who enjoy fast-paced games. It is a game that will keep you busy for hours, and that will have you coming back for more even after you have finished it. In a way, it is Sony’s version of “The Walking Dead”. If you are a fan of AMC’s ongoing series, then you will absolutely love this game. It may be a simple open-world adventure game, but it has all the elements console gamers are looking for.

Would a Days Gone Sequel Be Successful?

Days Gone 2 would, without a doubt, be a success, and it is no surprise that hundreds of thousands of gamers are signing a petition in order to get Sony to release a sequel. If games of inferior value can manage to sell multiple thousands of copies, then Days Gone 2 could reach sales similar to those of Assassin’s Creed titles, Grand Theft Auto or Final Fantasy. A Days Gone 2 copy will be worth the money one will have to pay in order to buy it, especially if it resembles the original. Players got a lot for their money, not just by playing the game once. Just like every other open-world game, Days Gone gives players the opportunity to explore and find things that can help them enjoy the game.

A Post-Apocalyptic Game That Can Be Played on Multiple Gaming Environments

Days Gone is no longer a Sony PlayStation exclusive. If you are a PC gamer, then you can play Sony’s horror game on your Windows computer. The developers have done their best in order to convert this game from a console game to a multiple platform game. This means that it will satisfy the requirements of computer gamers, who sometimes have different expectations than those of console gamers.

One may wonder why Sony allowed the PC availability of Days Gone when Microsoft is taking over every major studio, but when it comes to generating profit, even competitors find common ground. This does not mean that we are going to see Sony and Microsoft working together, but it leaves some space for the cross-releasing of titles developed by studios controlled by one or the other. For example, a Days Gone Windows release can bring a Bethesda title release for PlayStation systems at some point in the future.
