Can you believe that GTA V was released over a decade ago? Even though it was officially launched in September 2013, this action-adventure game still has loyal fans across the globe. Honestly, this was not a big surprise because the franchise was top-rated before GTA V emerged. That’s why the creators released an upgraded game version for next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S) in 2022.
We can all agree that the popularity of Grand Theft Auto V will stay steady until the new untitled GTA game, which is in development by Rockstar Games, is released. Before that happens, let’s analyze the things that make GTA V special and why we (still) love it!
Attractive Story
Some might say that all GTA games, including GTA V, have controversial stories. Still, we can all agree that they are timeless. It all depends on how you look at things. The game takes place in a fictional city, although it seems pretty realistic and resembles stuff we can find in the real world.
You have three gangsters who met by accident and made an excellent crew that’s always prepared to get involved in robberies and other crimes. There are three playable characters, and you can switch from one to another anytime: Michael de Santa (former bank robber), Trevor Philips (a dangerous and unpredictable yet fun character), and Franklin Clinton (a young gangbanger). Together they go on various main and side missions and always explore new things.
All in all, it’s an action-packed story that never gets old.
Fun Mini-Games
Another thing that makes us return to GTA V is the selection of mini-games available to all players of this game. For instance, players can wager virtual money on the Hao Street Races. They can do this in five races.
Mini-games come in the form of various casino games, but this only applies to GTA Online - the online component of the GTA V video game, which incorporates mini-games of roulette, blackjack, Lucky Wheel, and 3-card poker into its gameplay. When we discuss the size of the city/map, we will mention that it’s bigger than Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, which, as we all know, is a much newer game. Given its size, it’s no wonder that players keep finding hidden elements and secrets.
Honestly, the areas around the city could’ve been a bit more detailed and included elements that can contribute to your gameplay. Still, you might want to try some of the modifications of this title to see how that works.
Various Means of Transport
This point is related to the previous. Namely, you can’t expect to explore a vast world without the help of multiple means of transport. Even though you will find yourself walking (or running) very often, you’ll be driving a car most of the time.
One of the funniest things here is that you can steal literally any car you see on the streets. You need to approach and steal it. Remember that stealing vehicles in GTA V doesn’t always take the same amount of time, so be careful.
In addition to cars and trucks, you can also ride bicycles. Another interesting thing here is that you do stunts with the bikes. Some primary and side missions may involve specific vehicles, including a speedboat, an airplane, and a helicopter.
Final Thoughts
Of course, the things we mentioned above are not the only reason we play GTA V. A few other factors contribute to our decision to spend a few hours weekly on this action-adventure game.
For instance, we will mention the incredible details that make the game more realistic – the clean waters outside the city and the slightly polluted waters in urban areas. Next-gen console players can also notice when they are close to something of value, thanks to the haptic feedback. On top of that, we had regular updates in the past that made the game more smooth and enjoyable years after its release.
