when the Crypt Lord in warcraft 3 says:
"Who says there are no bugs in Warcraft 3"

    the wolfenstein level in doom2.

is it just me, or are most easter eggs found in older games?

I actually extracted all W3 voices to use them as Windows sounds :D
Starcraft and Warcraft games are best eastern carriers.

its just you :p Any blizzard game is full of them, even world of warcraft.

bioware games tend to have some decent ones too, like the books in/on bookshelves in nwn and so on.

and deekin in nwn 2, who talks about his book (aka nwn 1) being so popular that it was sold in platin and diamond aditions

I love this one... in Icewind Dale 2 there is a reference to Iron Maiden band in a dungeon.

Something along these lines "..he was tortured to death. They didn't even let him die with his boots on"

I'm currently playing Dungeon Siege II- Broken world. I don't remember where it was, but there was a chest that I opened that contained "The helm of the unknown comic" and it was a paper bag that didn't have any other abilities other than to make me laugh.

In Baldur's Gate 1 you run into Larry, Daryl and Daryl from the old sit com.

The Bard in BG1 also reference Monty Python Search for the Holy Grail...If he get to low in HP he starts to sing..

A well developed game will have at least 1 Easter Egg in it.
