    My neighborhood now has a resident Peacock. Great...just great. :doh:
    They wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so annoying. There’s some living in the neighborhood directly across from my work too...I remember going on break at 3am, and they would be doing their annoying calls in the middle of the night.

    They are pretty cool looking birds though...I wonder what they taste like when BBQ'ed. :evil: :yum: :evil:

    Well, yeah...but I've only seen the stupid thing on a rooftop once. I've got its home pinned between 4 different houses...but unfortunately, it's illeagal to discharge firearms within city limits (unless you're at a range). That can easily be worked around this 4th of July...shotguns sound a *lot* like M80's. :evil:

    Looks like I will be jumping from working for a Customs House Brokerage firm and moving over to our client's legal team, a major Aerospace manufacturer/developer. They are ending our contract at the end of the year. Not because we are doing a bad job or for personnel reasons, but for "Technological" purposes. They are going with a competitor of ours. In my previous position as an Import Superviser with another company, this competitor of ours was one of our Freight Forwarders. They were terrible. Absoultely terrible. We broke off business relations with them from all 6 origins. Looks like I will be overseeing them once again. This ought to be fun...ugh.

    I drove my bike straight into a traffic sign today :aww: Saw it coming, pulled the breaks, but they were sluggish and barely slowed me down. I hit the signpost with my cheek, and considering how bent the aluminium handlebar is, it absorbed a good deal of energy. The post stopped me dead. I used that one bike of mine that rolls so well, but I wasn't even fast i.e. I definitely need to get my breaks fixed (and I need a new handlebar) ... as for me, I am well, except for what must be a bruise on my cheek.

    I was really lucky. No nausea, headaches and such. Nothing broken. No bleeding. Phew. Maybe I should get myself a bicycle helmet?

    Heh. I would have put money on you already owning a bicycle helmet, Rags.

    At least you weren't hurt. Someone I know broke an arm like that (although they did hit a building... long story).
    Worst I ever did was trash the bike to the point of carrying it home (missed a flight of stairs at the end of a pedestrian bridge and flew head first into the river bank...).

    Rags you MUST get a helmet! Silly boy.

    A woman I know knocked a kid off a bike by accident years ago. She was pulling off her drive and the kid rode behind her. He didn't have a helmet on and suffered brain damage :( You're being really dumb not wearing a helmet

    Just looked a bit further up the page and realised I was on here last night. We need some kind of little clean up programme on here so that whenever someone (mainly me) starts a post with 'I'm [really] drunk' it get deleted! :lol:

    Told my family about my accident yesterday, and they chewed me out for not going to the hospital for an x-ray right after the accident. So I went to the hospital.

    In Germany's socialised medicine system I was served promptly and examined thoroughly and my x-rays showed no indications of fractures. I got some painkillers, was congratulated for my luck, and was sent on my way. All that took only about one and a half hours.

    Today is my birthday btw.
