ION my windows are open and someone is playing Like A Virgin and it's rather loud... Who listens to that song in the middle of the afternoon?

 

I disagree, Carad. I have had 2-plus day hangovers. Those were good times, until the hangover doys that is.

 

Logic dictates that you'd stop drinking before reaching the two days mark. In any case, the problem is that the best "cure" for a hangover is simply to have another drink. That's what is commonly called a vicious circle.

ION modding DAO is way too complicated (especially when you can go the lazy way and just use mods instead). Man I wouldn't have thought that making a custom soundset would require editing (and compiling) 141 different files. That's too much hassle. I might give it a shot later but I need to get used to this idea first. It's rather daunting. Still I'd like to use the Fighter5 soundset from IWD2 with DAO. It's way better than any of the standard DAO soundsets.

 

Can't wait for it to be July. There will (hopefully) be no exams left to worry about by then, fun will be back, and if my brain is still operational I'll get to the way-overdue pile of things I wanted to do, once upon a time.

Cara: It would definitely sound better then some of the DAO presets. *cringes at a flashback*

 

Have an exam coming up next Wednesday, still need to read the book (250 pages)

It is from a Flemish TV show called Jambers in which the host would visit some of the most [sexually] depraved people in Belgium and interview them. Belgium has a lot of those :/

Agreed but I can't gather the energy and willpower to make one now that I have realized all the work and trouble it would require.

I use the Silent mod in order not to hear any of these soundsets. I miss BG, all you had to do was put less than 40 files together and dump them in your folder. DAO is in an entirely different league, even after picking the 141 files you still need to work your way through the toolset for them to be working in game (it seems that compressing them in one archive is not enough you have to fiddle with the toolset and that probably means trouble, i.e. messing with custom modules and the like).

ION, I'm a wee bit sloshed

 

Today I've been fighting off the "sleepies". Whenever there's a good rain, even if thunderstorms are involved, it just makes me want to curl up and take a nice long nap. I meant to finally get around to picking up and rearranging my bedroom today, but I was just feeling too lazy thanks to the weather. On the funny side, when my dad came home and had to use the shopvac down in his den/museum (he collects uniforms & such from WWII) to remove water that was leaking in from the carpet, our one dog who never seems to be afraid of anything almost jumped in my lap as if to say "save me from that noisy machine" lol. The dog who is afraid of any loud noise remained calm as a cucumber while hiding under my dad's desk which is where she goes when there's a thunderstorm or a fireworks display going on. 70 lbs of dog trying to get up in one's lap is a funny thing, though getting whiplash from her tail, in my face, wasn't as enjoyable!

 

Birthday party last night... Insane. At the highest point thirty people were in my humble abode and it was pretty awesome. Cleaning up right now, not so fun.

Oh and for some fun, the birthday gifts included... a bamboo pipe, a fifth of lemonade vodka, fifth of Crown Royal, a single condom, and a fan. YEAAHHHH!

 

I hope the condom came with a promise....

 

Where I work, there is one girl named Elijah and another named Kyle. Neither one of them mind their names either, they both have more feminine middle names they could use if they hated their first names.

Trying to find a way to cool down... it'll be worse tomorrow since it's supposed to get up to 90 in my part of the US.

Crabby at my employers because my paycheck (that I should have had Friday) hasn't arrived yet. Gah!!

ION - also bouncing around my chair in excitement because my review for the Darkspawn Chronicles DLC for Dragon Age was deemed well-written enough by our esteemed Dragon that it made the Reviews/Articles section of the main page! Thanks again Tal!! It always feels good when someone likes what you've written, especially since that's my degree concentration - writing. Now if only this writer's block would go away, I could get to writing some fun fantasy stories.

In other news, my buddy's new car attacked my phone holster I had on my belt. It must have been getting old, because the seat belt snagged it and ripped the clip right off the holster. I can't just buy another holster either, since my phone's case is a unique design that can only fit in that specific holster...so I had to buy a new case & holster. His car now owes me $40...

 

Going to spend all day laying around in the sun today. Woo!

It'll be too hot to lay out in the sun today where I'm at... well add excessive humidity to the 90 and that makes me hide inside the nicely air conditioned house. /me hates heat, especially heat + humidity - give me 60's & 70's and I'm a happy panda instead of a sad one

 

My brother got his first real glass engraving contract today.

OTOH, I stayed inside all day fruitlessly reading biochemistry and hunting a lost inhaler in the laundry room... nicely illustrating uselessness.



More importantly, icecream season!
